I just took my AR15 to the range after installing the Fortis Muzzle Brake. I fired three rounds and retrieved the target. Dead center with two keyholes. Most Helpful Negative Review Wear marks
Out of the package the muzzle break has very noticeable wear marks. It looked like someone used a metal wrench and installed the part many times . Totally disappointed with the quality control with this company .

Wanted to like it

First thing I would like to say I do enjoy it, BUT only the black one I own one of each. When the Stainless Steel one arrived I was pretty upset with the color of it. Its not even close to shiny its dull and looks like garbage on my stainless steel barrel. It should be listed gray honestly. Second the threading is off so clocking it in with the crush washer doesn't work the break is far from being threaded right. The black one I own had zero problems with, clocked it on perfect and had zero issues with it. I would give a 1 star if all I owned was the Stainless steel one. Debating on returning it or painting it with duracoat because I have a can for a second project build. But that Stainless is garbage looking.

Holds it Steady

Thought I'd try out a muzzle brake on my AR to keep it from jumping and improve my accuracy. Shopped all over and decided on the Fortis Man. R.E.D. and it came thru with flying colors. It held it down and made it easy to pull off subsequent shots and zero my rifle in on target. Makes it a joy to shoot.

New build recoil reducer.

Tried this on a new build after taking a few shots with no brake. This reduces the recoil quite well and I find that it dampens the sound in the indoor range. So far I'm a big fan and would use these again.
Pros:

Followup to first review.
Got the muzzle break installed on the gun. What a difference. Had watched a number of U tube videos and read several on line reviews of the comparing various muzzle breaks. The Fortis received high marks so ordered one to up see if it would reduce the recoil out of my sig MCX 5.56. WOW!! I would estimate a minimum of 30% reduction, probably more. Gun shoots smooth like a .22 rifle. No blow back- Hold the scope on target and pop off 5 rapid shots @ 50 yards/ rounds were all in 6" of less pattern. Would buy again at twice the price.

Installed on the first AR-15 Build, with an adjustable gas block and Armaspec AR15 Gen 4 H2 Stealth Recoil Spring, it is a very smooth-shooting weapon with noticeably less recoil.
