Install is about as easy as it gets. The lockout is extremely solid. Highly recommended. No staking needed

I really like this product. It's very lightweight, so if you're looking to shave off a few oz from your build and are running out of places to do so, this is a solid consideration as compared to a milspec QD endplate and castle nut combo. It also looks pretty sharp.

Installation is a breeze. The endplate ring that goes around the buffer tube is wide enough There is no need to stake the castle nut (and no mechanism to allow for it, even if you wanted to anyway). You just hand-tighten and twist the nut roughly 1/4 turn beyond that, and you should be good to go.

If you do want to torque it, Fortis recommends only going to 15-20 ft-lbs and NOT exceeding that amount. I would...agree with that, because I was an idiot who just used standard torque values and went to about 25 ft-lbs, which resulted in marring the finish on this fancy-schmancy-looking castle nut. (The good news is that this thing is shiny enough you may not even really notice unless you look carefully.) So, avoid my mistake and either just hand-tighten, or only go to about 15 ft lbs., just to be safe.

The finish is glossy black and shiny whatever-anodized-color-you-picked.

Lastly, one potential "con" is that the endplate QD connector does not have any kind of anti-rotation locking. This is less of an issue for me, but might matter to you.

The machining quality is great, tons of color options and it does what it’s supposed to do perfectly! Love the FDE color. No complaints!

To be clear, the product quality is very good and the feels solid. The slight issue I see with this is more long term as it is thinner and weaker than I would have expected from an end plate. the torque specs tell you just that in that they are about 1/2 of a normal end plate. I have limited time with this part so I may have no issues long term at all, I am just a bit skeptical.

Looks great, fits very well and torque down easy with its groves properly placed.

The castle nut is really cool and just what I needed for my build. If you need a standard castle nut you can get one much cheaper. But if you are looking for a more non-tactical custom build look this is spot on.

This is a simple piece of your stock but it gives you like 2 castle nuts for extra security , you can match the color to your custom stock or just use this castle nut on your current build, it has this click sound and tactile feel so you nos for sure everything is good to go…..I highly recommend this product if you want a quality and extra safe feeling your stock is properly attached.

Nice product, but not worth the price, feels so cheap made out of aluminum, if your looking to save weight, then this is probably right for you. I'm more into this product to see how long it takes for the Castle nut to start moving, even though product guarantees it is locked when installed correctly, now only time will tell.

Fit and finish. Fits and looks good. No issues, it just fits right.
