Great Upgrade
The Forward Controls Design buffer retaining pin is quality made, and the tip is just a little bigger than USGI. I use these in every rifle. The only issue is you can’t use these with the buffer tube with the extended lip and slot cut in it, because it won’t fit. I don’t use those buffer tubes anyway because if the bolt carrier got frozen and couldn’t split the upper and lower, you can’t just unscrew the buffer tube to fix because it will be locked in place. Great upgrade for an item that everyone overlooks.

FCD Buffer Retainer Detent
When it comes to building a quality AR it comes down to the finer details/parts like this FCD Buffer Retainer Detent. I put this in one of my high end builds and while I may not notice some kind of improvement, I do know I have quality parts like this detent that will out last your standard mil-spec version. If you place value in the finer details and parts in your build then I would highly recommend getting one of these.

Great pins that are slightly larger to hold FCG. Strongly recommend these for any AR build.
