Ummm ok, not really
I don’t know if you’ve ever worked a riot, but they tend to be quite loud. If you’ve never used flash bangs, they too are quite loud and you must desensitize before using them on a real operation. The TEDD is basically, in my honest opinion, the equivalent of the rape whistle for distraction devices.
Liability and ineffective
Training device use only recommended. The fact they can not be too flashy or too loud due to inducing a medical condition or ear damage. Also because suspect can pick up device and throw back. If you get hit in the head by this device it could kill you. Knowing that ahead of time you now have to defend yourself against deadly force. See a problem here?

Great item!
A great option to replace a traditional NFDD which may cause injury or fire. Very simple to use and program, very well built. I think it will definitely replace or augment a traditional NFDD. Would also be good for training. There is really zero drawbacks to having this item available to your SWAT team.
