horizontal mag carrier
great for carrying a single spare mag, takes up a lot of space on the belt so don't try to carry 2 of these.
Pros: good retention, fast draw.
Cons: takes up a lot of space on the belt

Not quite as stealthy as it looks
I use this for concealed/off-duty wear with an HK P2000. First thing noticed was that the belt loop attachments are flared open making it stick out from my belt farther than expected.
Also, its takes some serious effort to get them broken in, so don't expect to use them effectively right out o...

Terrible fit
I bought this horizontal magazine pouch for my Smith & Wesson 16 round magazine. I’ll be walking along in the magazine falls out of the mag pouch. Zero retention. The retention screw is as tight as it goes. Will not hold the magazine. Does it do me no good if I need the magazine and it’s laying on the ground somewhere.

Handy item
Fits tight but that is good so the magazine doesn't fall out. Works for me since I often have to sit in my job. The outside finish looks nice. But since I just got it I haven't practiced a lot with it, so if there are later issues I may update this review.

Great Spare Mag Carrier
I purchased this for my Glock 26. I carry a Glock 19 Mag as a spare. I was skeptical of the horizontal magazine carriers, but found that it carries comfortably at around 1 o'clock. Concealment is no problem even in t-shirt weather.

FITS M&P SHIELD MAGAZINE
I was looking for a horizontal magazine carrier for the M&P Shield and took a chance on this one. Knowing to the size of the 45 auto and the size of the Shield magazine, this Galco HMC26 fit perfectly. The break-in was simply massaging the leather which took a minutes. I also have one for my M&P 40c. LOVE IT.

Quality But "slides" on belt when removing magazine
Must be worn on "strong side" to grab with weak side hand. When pulling to remove magazine from pouch, the Galco horizontal pouch slides forward on my belt slowing the removal of the magazine. I have sent this item back and will reorder a vertical positioned pouch.

Horizontal Mounting Did Not Meet My Needs
I thought I really wanted a horizontal magazine pouch for discrete conceal/carry on my belt. What I leanred is that since I am right-handed, it must be placed on my right hand side (in front of my holstered firearm) and when I go to pull out the magazine, the "mag pouch" slides forward until it hits a belt loop to stop it. As well, it places two things (firearm and mag pouch) all on my right hand side which is heavy... and I wish it was spreasd out. I will return and buy a verticle single mag pouch (fully enclosed with snapping cover) to carry on my left/weak side of my belt... however, I will buy it from Optics Planet as their pricing and shipping is second to none. The Galco Product itself is built first rate, but it's the "sliding" of the pouch on my belt when pulling the magazine out that is the problem for me... which is not safe or takes extra time.
