Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent and Comfortable
This holster is remarkably comfortable and very natural to wear. I have worn it all day through many activities from going to the store to hiking, fishing, and hunting. I carry a full size 1911 with a 5 inch barrel and I have never felt a strap cut into me or otherwise had problems. The only problem...

Most Helpful Negative Review JR224H-No barrel down diagonal carry position
GALCO Jackass Shoulder Rigs: The Original Jackass Rig features a horizontal holster with patented swivel connectors, which can be adjusted to a more diagonal carry position. I purchased this for a Glock 17 that I wanted to carry on a diagonal position. I wanted the barrel to be pointed towards t...

Galco Shoulder Holster - Beretta 92

by Julian Saldana, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 18, 2026
Since I've received this holster, it's been a pretty straight forward experience. Fitting took some time, but if you're reading instructions and watching their video properly, you have yourself a great holster. It evenly distributes the weight of my Beretta 92 and the magazines, and makes them feel like nothing. I'm also a thinner guy, but the angle of holster really helps blend that 92 along my side. Can't wear super tight shirts unfortunately, but I guess that's all the more reason to adopt Hawaiian shirts and go full Miami Vice
Pros:
  • Leather
  • distributes weight very well
  • Looks great , Easy installation
Cons:
  • Plastic adjusters
  • Printing with tighter clothing
  • Straps are bit thin

Having my Beretta 92F since the 80's it has always been a little to large and heavy to carry for EDC. I have 3 Galco Miami clasic holsters and realy like them but the cant is wrong for a largergun.Since i recently draged out my 92 and started to upgrade it bly-bly Landgon I was looking for a holster I could carry it with 2 extra mags.Looked on Galco fond this jackass, holster great until i saw the price.Starting looking around and found this one on Opticsplanet for much better price.Got the rig and have been very happy with it.Can load 2 18 round mags and the 92 and were it all day, very comfortable rig and it conceal's very well under buttons open short sleve shirt.Great product from Galco at a good price from the planet. Galco Jackass Rig

by Dave, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on January 8, 2026
When it comes to shoulder systems, my go to has always been the Miami rig. Still is when I consider small to medium firearms. The Jackass has some attributes that cannot be ignored when considering a rig for a larger frame pistol like a full size 1911 or an Sig 226. Being canted, the Jackass allows for the longer slide to conceal much easier and comfortably than the Miami rig would allow. Also, with some practice, one can draw smoother from up under a closed cover garment. Meaning you can have that jacket buttoned and reach up from below and still accomplish a smooth draw downward if necessary.
Pros:
  • Canted for better concealment of larger pistols
Cons:
  • Shoulder systems can be slower than other means of carry. In close quarters, they can be a liability if facing a threat.
  • Any shoulder system can be slower than other means of carry and require practice to implement effectively. By nature, they can prove to be a liability if facing a threat close quarters.
Best Used for:
  • Comfortable concealment for larger frame pistols

Fits Like a Glove

by Johnny C., Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on October 4, 2025
It’s a fantastic holster. I got it for my PSA dagger and it fits snug, and once you adjust the retention to your liking it’s very smooth to draw, although I recommend practicing a bit if you aren’t used to a thumb break and to make sure you can do it smoothly without flagging anyone. You can adjust the straps so that the holster either sits horizontally under your armpit, or diagonally which is perfect if you’re on the skinnier side and like to carry a larger gun which is extremely useful. I usually wear it under a large Tshirt or under a flannel and never have any issues with concealing. All in all an excellent holster rig.

Great fit for G17 Gen4, PSA Dagger, and G34 Gen 4

by Drew, from AL, United States Written on July 11, 2023
Works great with all of the above pistols. Bought to wear with sport coat; normal holsters were damaging my dress shirts. conceals nice with dress coat. Its better to not have rough grips for dress shirts with this; the grip can rub on your shirts. Had to remove 3m tape from G34 to protect dress shirts. This is great for comfort but does reduce draw time; keep that in mind; also be careful with a chambered round. The barrel often is pointed at your face and other people when putting this on. Its better to put holster on first then insert gun.
Pros:
  • Great fit/comfortable
Cons:
  • Slow draw time
Best Used for:
  • Dress clothes

Galco Jackass Shoulder holster

by Doug, from GA, United States Written on August 20, 2022
I have had this holster for about 10 years to carry a colt 1911 commander. The best holster I have ever had. Had to experiment with the adjustable straps to get the fit right but once you get it there it's perfect. Comfortable, durable and it ages well. I am no longer in Law Enforcement but I wear this thing everyday

  • concealed carry

Comfortable

by GaryT, from NC, United States Written on February 27, 2022
I went into this purchase with some concerns. However, I have had some interactions with the Galco folks for a previous OWB holster and was confident that they were there for backup/assistance if needed. After using the system for a few weeks, I am no longer concerned. I followed the video instruction to adjust the system and was surprised to find it fitting very well. After three minor adjustments, I became used to the carry system and was not as aware of the shoulder carry as I was of my previous SOB and OWB carry methods. I am currently carrying more with this system that my other methods. It really lends itself to carry during cooler weather or when a jacket or coat may be worn. While comfortable, I can't see it being my primary carry method during the warmer months since a coat/jacket is not comfortable at that time. I will explore adding another shoulder system for one of my other guns. I have already recommended the system to some of my friends who in a vehicle a lot. This makes my gun accessible while driving whereas a belt system can get locked in with the seatbelt. Great product!
