Purchased for use in cowboy action shooting and seems to work well for a newcomer to the sport. The holster is molded to nicely fit the firearm specified, yet provides secure carry and easy access. If quick access to firearm is required, strong side holster will need to be tied down so holster does not ride up when firearm is drawn. I punched the holster loop at the inside as well as the belt with a leather punch and tied strong side and cross-draw holsters to the belt with a leather boot lace. This is my second Galco holster and they are fantastic.

Perfect fit, easy break in process, and top quality leather.

They come with instructions for break in and they work perfectly.

Also, their return policy is great. They pay shipping and returns with no questions asked. I ordered the wrong size cartridge belt at first, and they were great.

You pay a little more but the quality, fit and look and feel are well worth it!

Another great Galco holster!

I bought this holster for my Ruger Blackhawk revolvers. It is for a 6 1/2” revolver but you can carry revolvers from 4 1/2” to 6 1/2”. All you have to do is follow the break in directions that come with it and it works great.

Received holster in good shape and it was as described.Very happy with purchase. I will break it in and then put it on Galco gun belt also purchased from opticsplanet. When completed off it goes with me to desert with my Colt.

Just about perfect

The appearance and construction of this holster is just about perfect. The fit to my vaquero is perfect. Good quality leather, excellent finish. I did not give it five stars because I prefer lined holsters, and that is not an option for this holster, otherwise, it's just what I wanted.

1880s holster right hand

Showed up on time and no damage. Fit my 41mag Blackhawk right out of the box. Has quality look and feel. The draw is fine for me.
Pros: Fit like a glove.

Little stiff

Over all this is a very nice holster. The inside is rough so I hand rubbed in leather conditioner worked fine. it sits to high for the 61/2 barrel. would like a holster with a 2 inch more drop to properly draw with out hanging up. the other option is to just raise your arm higher when drawing. Real good holster for the money but would be good with a liner.
Pros: nice looking, holds it shape. fits my ruger blackhawk great
Cons: better if it were lined. would like the holster to drop about 2 inches.

This is a heavy duty holster that will last a lifetime. However, go with a lined holster if you have a blued gun.

Right handers, go with a cross draw as there is more space on your belt on the left side.
Pros: Nice holster for the price.
Cons: Not lined
