I love this holster. It is quality constructed and has clean, simple lines that go well with my Blackhawk. Plus, it can be worn strong side or cross draw, which gives it added versatility.

Ordered this for a Ruger Blackhawk with the 5.5 inch barrel. Perfect fit after following break-in instructions. I like to carry cross-draw when out on the ranch so it keeps it close but out of the way when sitting in a vehicle. It seems to be a great quality holster and would definitely buy it again. Also, I think it got here in 3 or 4 days so thanks Optics Planet!

I had another holster for my Ruger Blackhawk but was not happy with it. Saw great reviews on this Galco. I followed the break-in instructions and within 30 minutes the holster fit like a glove. Optics Planet had a great price and shipped for free. Highly recommend.

This is an inferior product to the Phoenix line of Galco holsters I have purchased for my double action revolvers and semi autos. It is thin, unlined and feels downright cheap by comparison. I like the dual use design that allows strongside or crossdraw which is similar to the Phoenix holster, but Galco has made a deliberate decision to short change this holster line, perhaps because it is specifically for the Ruger Blackhawk... a non duty weapon. I will not purchase another. I should have gone with El Paso Saddlery with whom you get what you pay for and more.

I purchased this holster for my Ruger Blackhawk in 38/357 with a 6.5" barrel. It fit perfectly, and held the pistol securely with the provided hammer strap. I found that wearing it in the cross draw configuration provided easy access to the revolver. In the standard western strong hand mode it rides rather high and puling 6.5" is a bit cumbersome. If I were to use a second belt and let it sag I'm sure it would be just fine. When hunting the cross draw mode gives some concealment if you wear a shooting coat. It is also, comfortable when riding a ATV.

I bought this holster to carry my Ruger Blackhawk revolvers. It is a great quality holster that hold up very good to weather and wear. I also have several other Galco products. It is the same great quality as all other Galco products that I own.

I highly recommend GALCO products. You will not be disappointed. One drawback is Opticplanet shipping FedEx, ... they are terrible! Package was delivered "torn to shreds"; however, GALCO blister pack saved the day! :-)

My holster model is for the 5.5" Ruger Blackhawk or Colt SAA. And, my revolver is a 5.5" S/S Bisley convertible -- a Williams exclusive with a lower than standard front sight installed. The holster fit the frame tight (but OK) but it was tight on the front sight. It was tight enough to quickly wear off a pretty hard coat of paint I had on top of the sight. I think it would be very tight on a standard height front sight. Other than that, I would have given it 5 stars.

I needed a quality holster for my new Ruger SS Super Black Hawk .44 Magnum. I purchased Galco products before and knew the quality was built-in. The materials used are of the highest quality and the leather finishing is second to none. The most impressive thing is, it is molded to fit this particular gun almost perfectly. The retaining strap is the right length and holds the gun in without having to stretch it to the snap. This holster is molded to this specific firearm. hence, it fits the way it should. The break-in period is somewhat lengthened by the initial tight fit. Galco recommends wrapping the firearm with 2 or 3 layers of plastic food wrap, inserting the firearm into the holster and twisting it several times to have it loosened to this specific revolver. As recommended, this put the finishing touches to the fitting. With the break-in completed, the gun has a snug, but is very acceptable.
