Great Tool!
Before I bought this I used a AR Vise Block. I did not believe this was worth the price but when I started working on what I consider to be my last AR build I bought this tool. I bought a Battle Arms Development stripped upper and lower receiver which cost more than your average parts. I wanted to make sure that I did not damage the finish on my upper while installing the barrel nut and muzzle brake. It made me realize that I should've bought this a long time ago.
Used item sent
The product came with scratches like it was been used.
I didn’t give it 1 star because I actually haven’t used it yet, and I think it’ll work as intended l. But definitely 2 stars for it being used.

Geissele AR15 Reaction Rod
I bought this over 2 years ago and it was solid purchase. I can't tell you how many upper receivers I built and serviced with it. I think it is a must have for any avid AR builder. I love how you can use it to turn the upper you are working on in different positions since it indexes off of the barrels locking lugs. For example, installing the gas block, torqueing handguard screws and attaching accessories to your handguard. It is best used for installing muzzle devices but I found that you can also use it for torqueing down barrel nuts as well. This reaction rod is built like a tank and I have dropped it a few times by accident but I found little to no damage on it. If you are looking for a tool that will last a long time for building and servicing upper receivers then look no further. I would definitely buy this again and highly recommend it.

The right tool for the job
Wish I had purchased this sooner, makes it so much easier to do any type of work on a barrel.

My reaction to this rod
First one was not deburred, its replacement direct from Geissele had deep axial scratches
Pros:
- quick deployment
Cons:
- Quality issues

Highly recommend for building your AR
I can't say enough good things about this tool.
1) This is for the AR-15 mil spec. As long as your bolt has a standard AR-15 outer diameter and lug pattern this will work.
2) Used this to change the barrel out on my 6.5 Grendel. Grendel has the largest case head diameter that will fit in the AR-15 platform.
a) There is a manufacturer that builds an intermediate sized "AR-15". That rifle is not "Mil Spec". Research YOUR RIFLE to determine what you
need.
3) I don't know if it will work on a side charging upper, I had to remove the charging handle for it to fit in my standard upper.
4) After changing the barrel and getting the muzzle brake installed, this allowed me to keep the upper receiver level for scope installation.
5) It's not cheap, you do get what you pay for.

A fantastic tool to have
Before buying the Geissele Reaction Rod I wasn’t sure if it was a necessary purchase since I have a vice block. After using it once and then a handful more times I am 100% glad I have it. Rock sold fit. Great for breaking free muzzle devices that have Rocksett or Loctite on the threads. Won’t stress where the barrel meets the receiver. If you do a number of builds and/or like changing things out, I highly recommend it.
Pros:
- Quality
- well machined
- Highly useful tool
Cons:
- none that i can see
Best Used for:
- AR Platform
- 300 Blackout
- 5.56 and .223
- 300 AAC

This is a top brand device
I clamped this in my vice and have used it without any damage to my upper on two different builds. The construction of the fusion rod is everlasting. Heavy duty and precise machining. The cost was higher than some of it’s competition but the manufacturer has a reputation for high quality so i went with it.
Pros:
- Heavy Duty
Cons:
- price
Best Used for:
- Not damaging my AR upper.

will not fit on a Gibbz Arms G4 upper receiver
This will not slide into a Gibbz Arms upper, unless you take off that top oval lip. The rod catches on the area just at the charging handle cover, and will not go in, and the slot is not machined all the way to the back of the upper.
Pros:
- Nice machining
Cons:
- will not fit this upper
Best Used for:
- maybe most other AR-15 uppers

mandatory for building ar uppers
Like all good designs- simple, solid, well thought out. You’ll wonder how you ever did any work on ar uppers without one. Its a solid rod equipped with splines that mate to the barrel extension on one end and the other end has flats machined into the rod to clamp into your vise.

Geissele AR-15/M4 Reaction Rod
Great product, came in handy removing a stubborn barrel nut that required a lot of torque. Saves you from destroying your upper. It's solid steel and has some weight to it. I must need in any home armory.
