This is the second one of these I bought.
I bought the original Gerber Diesel many many years ago and I still use it daily. I wanted to buy a new one not to replace the original but to make sure I have one with me in my gear for work and my gear off duty. Can definitely say this is one of my favorite things I have ever bought.

Everyone needs one or two
After 20 years I had to retire my old Gerb and get a new one. We gave it a fantastic voyage into the next chapter, giant pyre of pine and oak with Mother Nature dropping fresh snowflakes to add to the ambiance. It’s replacement looks just at sturdy and well made as my original with a few new additions. It will serve me well for the next 20 years.

Primary EDC item
I have 3 of these. One is my every day carry and feel naked without it. Another in my Otis military gun cleaning service kit. Third in drawer in case one is lost. It services almost everything I might need to do. Quick tighten a phillips head screw, cut a wire, pry open a can lid, grip something with pliers jaws, use pliers nose to open a stubborn knot in a rope. This and my pocket knife are always on board for immediate use.
