GG&G M1A Scout Scope Mount
Very well made. All the edges are rounded and the notches are mil-spec. Only requires field stripping the rifle install. Allows me to move my scope farther towards the receiver than the factory mount, providing perfect eye relief at the higher power settings. Highly recommended for any scout rifle setup.
Mount used on other rifle
I put this on a heritage 22 carbine and it couldn’t look more perfect. Mounted on up against the outside of the front sling mount having to cut a strip from a black mini bubble wrap mailer to wrap around the barrel to make up for the minimal diameter difference. This mount makes a perfect front grip, kinda keeping with the style reminding of old rifles with no front forestock.

Exactly what I wanted ... and needed
The GG&G M1A Scout Scope Mount replaces the original with no hitches or glitches. I was able to install it myself after field stripping the rifle for the first time after owning it. After setting the barrel assembly on a level surface and loose mounting it in place of the original, I next used a level to make sure it got mounted it level on the barrel before tightening it down. It was the exact mount that I needed to get a good sight picture with the scope selected.

M1A Scope Mount
When I first installed this device. I noticed it was crooked. So be sure to have a level with you whilst installing. Also, be sure to use lok-tite as little as possible. You may want to fix the issue of crookedness?

GG&G rail on SOCOM 16
Easy install. It does leave a small gap between the top and bottom of the mount maybe 1/16" gap compared to the flush factory mount. Rifle still functions dry though have not made it to the range. Mount also causes a slight flair on the sides of the factory heat shield on socom 16 model. Maybe slightly wider than factory mount. Meets needs so long as it holds up at the range.
Best Used for:
- moving scope towards eye

M1A Socom Eye relife helper
Being new to mounting a rifle scope I bought several different scopes. Each one I installed had the same results, I was not able to gain a proper view through the scope. After watching a few videos, it became clear that what I was missing was the proper Eye relief to the scope. After a little more research I found the M1A Scout Scope Mount on Opticsplanet. The price was good, so I ordered the mount and that turned out be the answer to my problems. I received the mount very quickly and had no problem with the install.
Pros:
- Easy to install
Cons:
- N/A

GG&G M1A Mount
This mount is well made and a vast improvement over the factory mount. I bought this mount to put a MRO on my rifle and wanted it centered as much as possible. This mount also gets your optic further from the barrel and the heat it generates. Well done GG&G!!!
Pros:
- Well finished, smooth edges.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Mounting a red dot further back and still utilizing irons.

The Perfect Alternative
So far, I've got no complaints about this item what so ever. After looking at $200-400 side mounts, and equally expensive extended mounts, I figured for the price I would give this product a try. It does exactly what I need it to, pushing back my scope just enough and still allowing me to use the iron sights. I'm slightly worried my scope might get dinged from ejected casings, but so far so good.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Allows use of iron sights
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Extended Eye Releif Scopes
