I ordered one knowing how impressed i would be. Because I ordered the exact same one without the quick release. And the set version is 100%.
Now
I wish I could say how sweet that quick release releases... But i haven't received it.

I bought this primarily to use under my 6.5 Remington 700, but I like it so much that I've put rail sections under the front of a few ARs and grab this whenever I want to confirm zero for a new load. My old Harris bipod is now relegated to my M1A only...

The features that this bi-pod offers is very good. I needed a bi-pod that would cant. This is a bit slower to deploy than the spring ones but no noise. A bit tricky to deploy but I got use to it very quickly. The legs are not spring loaded like the other ones, which is a plus in my mind. I really like the ability to put the legs at 45 degrees, to get the barrel down so the stock doesn't have to be so high more comfortable shooting.
I liked that there were no notches in the legs and they were noiseless when extending, so you can control the adjustments better.
Cons:
- expensive - but worth it
- knobs somewhat small

I've owned many bipods, but this is by far the best as far as versatility, and strength, that I've ever owned.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone needing a bipod.
Yes it's a little expensive but well worth it.

The XDS-2 is a very nice piece of workmanship, better than expected and I was expecting alot! Light weight, great quick detach, and excellent range of motion. I tried another Bi-pod in the $100.00 range and was not very happy (sloppy tolerances and heave) ordered this one and am very pleased with the product. I have several GG&G products and all have been high quality.
Pros:
- Good build and quality.
- Lightweight, solid

GG&G is Tucson's version of Spuhr! Form truly follows function, such an elegant, minimalist design with attention to detail... More $ than a Harris (before adding the cost of a rail adapter) & less than an Atlas but worth every single darn penny. EVERY edge is chamfered and the thumb screws are captive - nothing gets lost - perfect anodize. Machining & design are just like Spuhr, bullet-proof, pre-load it with no worries. Love that there are no springs to futz with. This GGG-1557 splits time between an AR-10 and a Wylde DMR, bought it for the integrated QD rail mount. Absolutely zero issues with toughness - it is a BSH and will outlast me. Very highly recommended!
