airsoft trash
Has no plate retention system so if the Velcro fails your plate is on the ground.
Also it has openings that expose your plates to rain and sunlight.
This thing is a joke and shame on optics planet for selling it!
Great vest
Love the size, truly minimalist. Quality is top notch. I own two now (his & hers). 10/10 recommend to everyone.

Not Ranger Green, color is way off. Quality is OK, corners are open exposing plates to elements.
This carrier fits my unique needs, which is why I bought it, and gave 4 stars. For 99% of people, I don't think it's a good choice.
I had some old rectangle shaped plates that I wanted a cheap but decent carrier for. This carrier is designed for shooters/SAPI cut plates, but due to the open corners, you can fit rectangle plates in it.
So this carrier was a good choice for that situation. Otherwise, I can't say I'd recommend it. I was rather annoyed when I saw the color. All my gear is Ranger Green, this carrier is some sort of brightish green instead. Unless you have odd shaped plates like mine, the open corners is definitely a negative. It leaves your plates exposed to dirt/the elements. For me it was the only option I could find to get a semi modern carrier that would fit my plates.
Overall, the quality is OKish, but not quite as high as I'd hoped. I do like the buckle design, it's quick and easy compared to cummerbunds, and a whole lot cheaper than QD tubes.
I'd suggest you don't buy this unless you happen to have some goofy rectangle plates. There's better budget carriers out there.

As advertised
Very minimalist which is what I needed (trying not to look tactical). I fit ceramic plates in this easily and they stay in place. Very easy to put on and pull off with easy adjustments. The fit and function is pretty high quality.

Good product for minuteman, armed citizen, etc.
The Grey Ghost Gear minimalist plate carrier is an excellent option for an armed citizen or other individual with similar needs. If you are LEO or military you can obviously get Berry Amendment compliant (USA made) for several times more cost for free. The GGG minimalist is an excellent example of a low profile plate carrier. It has a very extensive velcro flap for the bottom (yes, if it all came open your plate could slide down and out; that's pretty impractical, though). The straps are low profile for staying out of the way of other parts of your gear. I particularly prefer the simple 2" SRB closure on the sides with some elastication to it. It makes it easy to bend and move without feeling like you're in a skintight oil drum. It also stays away from any gear on a warbelt which is very important. Cummberbund systems or 'airweight' molle web systems for the side are just excess weight, complexity and strapping to wrestle with if you aren't mounting side plates.
The plate carrier has 6 columns of MOLLE front and back and a bit for velcro nametapes at the top with a grab handle on the rear. I have sewns some tactical gear with the proper sewing machines in the past so I can look at the stitching with a relatively well trained eye and it seems satisfactory to me. It's basic, seems durable enough and no frills; exactly what an armed citizen should be looking for. If you overload yourself you cannot be effective. If you have too much useless stuff on yourself you cannot be effec...
