Bought these before and they were really nice and looked great. They changed the design and went to aluminum and made it shorter. Looks cheap and not what I was expecting. Old design was far superior.

Excellent thread protector for Griffin Taper Mount Muzzle Devices. I have two of these and they do a great job protecting the treads on my Griffin Muzzle Devices when I'm not using a Suppressor.

I have about a dozen of these. They work perfectly every time!!!

I use these to protect the threads on my muzzle breaks & suppressor adaptors. Works great!

Other reviews were upset that the current version of this thread protector are made of aluminum but I think it's great. The thread protector is precision machined, mates beautifully with the taper mount flash comp, feels great in the hand, threads on smoothly, and because it is aluminum, is very light. For a sacrificial, protective item I'd much rather have the weight reduction than unnecessary durability.

While I'm waiting for my tax stamp I'm glad to have a nice lightweight way of protecting my muzzle device. The knurling is grippy making it easy to hand tighten and remove without tools. That said, the mating with the taper mount is very tight and I found that it required a bit more force to remove than to mount (bother were done without tools).

The thread protector does add a bit of volume to the muzzle device that I'd prefer not be there for aesthetic reasons but far less than something like the Minimalist blast shield (though it also provides no functional effect, unlike the blast shield).

As always with Griffin, you can expect quality products at a fair price. This is no exception! Good thread protector and a price that doesn't break the bank. Would definitely recommend this product and this company. Optics planet also delivered on their end!

It does what it’s supposed to do. Machining is great and covers up the threads on the taper mounts when a suppressor isn’t in use. Bought two and there will definitely be more in the future. Thanks Griffin and OpticsPlanet.

Bought this thread protector to put on when a suppressor is on a different rifle. Ordered from DVOR and the thread protector took a little longer than anticipated due to covid, no big deal. Nicely packaged and arrived just as I expected, works perfect and doesn’t look as bulky and weird I expected it to. Love griffins taper mount muzzle devices and I’ll continue to buy from them.

I have one of these on all 4 of my Griffin Minimalist Brakes and they both protect the taper mount threads and dress up the installation for a very reasonable price. The thread protectors are made to the usual high degree of precision we expect from Griffin. Highly recommended!

The Griffin Armament Thread Protector for Taper Mount Muzzle Device is a MUST have for any Griffin device that has suppressor threads. This is made to protect those threads when the suppressor is not mounted. Fair warning this does add a bit of size to the diameter of the muzzle device but it does the job.
