Good but some negatives

by Paul, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on May 21, 2025
It has nice and sturdy construction, but the steel legs don't seem to adhere to surfaces as well as the LE version because of the finish. The deployment is quite violent and jarring, much more than the LE. I am impressed how little weight addition there is with the all steel legs. But for more than $200, I was hoping for something that would be really tight to picatinny rails.
Pros:
  • good construction
  • solid
Cons:
  • not as tight as I would like
Would recommend: Yes

Great Compromise

by Idonno, from VA, United States Written on October 13, 2024
I have heard a lot of criticism on line of this product mostly saying it tries to fill 2 rolls and does neither as well as the separate components. I agree to a point but not completely. Another criticism is it's large and ugly. Well it is kind of large but it is so because of the dual roll it plays and even then it does not look out of place on my AR10. This item serves it's purpose well on any rifle that you want to keep a fighting rifle but also has the ability to reach out and would benefit greatly by having a bi-pod (DMR, AR10 come to mind).
While it's true if I had separate components I would have a shorter fore-grip and a bi-pod with legs that I could level separately. I (IMO) would then have a rifle less suitable for fulfilling both rolls as a fighting rifle and a marksman rifle. This grip pod fulfills its dual roll very well. The fore-grip while large is solid and comfortable and the Bi-pod function has steel reinforced legs, is quick, solid and easily deployable.
There is a good reason the military uses these. They are well built and serve their dual purpose well.
Pros:
  • They are well built and serve their dual purpose well
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • DMR, AR10
