Fits Henry 45-70
This hammer extension fit my Henry 45-70 perfectly. It makes the use of a scope on a lever action easier to access the hammer without having to worry about fumbling for it under the scope. It made shooting my rifle a much smoother process.

Could have been mispackaged, but not the right product
Got this GTHM-284 model which is supposed to be for Henry lever action Rimfires. Was for a Henry youth model lever action .22lr. Packaging of the product is correct, but the space where the hammer fits is a good 1.5 times too wide. Like something that would fit a S&W 44 magnum with a target hamme...

sturdy and accessible
I added a scope onto my rifle and got this extension to access the hammer on a lever action. The install was simple and after over 100 rounds, is still sturdy.

- accessible hammer
Cons:
- small
- could use a flat top
Best Used for:
- hammers under a scope

Solid upgrade
This hammer extension was a nice little upgrade to the Henry model X I own in .357. It seemed awkward in the photos, but once installing I found the extension to allow much more ergonomic manipulation of the hammer. On this rifle, hammer control is the only safety available. I found the part to be delivered exactly as shown, however in some photos this appears to be a pack of 4-6 hammer extensions and it's not clear in the description that you only get one. I'd also mention the fit and finish. This does fit very well on the hammer but it could use a tumble in some abrasive media to knock down the burrs. It's got a couple of sharp edges from machining that I chose to file down and re-blue. Had it not been for the burrs, I would give it 5 stars.

simple and convenient BL-22 accessory.
Very useful to operate the hammer, especially if you have a scope on the Browning BL-22 rimfire. No more pinching your finger, also releasing the hammer is much safer with it. Even without a scope still makes îți easier to operate the hammer.

Henry .22 Hammer Extension
I use the hammer extension on a H001 Henry .22 lever action. It makes it possible to work the hammer when a scope is installed on the rifle, making operation much safer if decocking on a loaded chamber. The only issue I have is that the back of the bolt catches slightly and has to overcome some resistance as it passes the extension to set the hammer. It's not a huge deal and isn't noticable if you work the action normally but if you are working the lever gingerly you can feel it catch a bit. It can't really be moved back either to alleviate the issue.
Best Used for:
- Rifle with scope mounted

Hammer Extension
The extension fitment is good and seems to be well built. It provided the additional scope clearance needed for hammer cocking and de-cocking.

Comfortable and tough.
If you own a lever action rifle or a hunting revolver you know the pain of manually pulling back the hammer... These GrovTec US Henry Big Boy Hammer Extensions will come to the rescue every time... They are NOT flimsy plastic, instead they are rugged metal tools made to last!!!

Works great, after I filed the groove to fit
Didn't fit on my 45-70 Henry All Weather Picatinny. Had to file the side of the opening opposite the set screw. The channel at the bottom cleared the underside of the hammer, but the main groove was too narrow to clear the textured top of the hammer. Took about 5-10 minutes of filing and fitting to make it go. I double checked the part number and it is the one that is supposed to fit. Works great now though.
Pros:
- Works great
Cons:
- Didn't fit

Just what I needed
Gread hammer extension, it fits perfectly on my Marlin 1895GBL chambered in 45-70.
I would suggest you try to work the screw and make sure it it doesn't bind before you install. I had to work with it so it would thread all the way down and seat on the hammer. Don't think is moving any time this century though.

Hammer extension for the Marlin 336
I purchased this for the Marlin 336 in 30-30. When you leave a round chambered and lower the hammer (Safety on typically), you can overcome the strong hammer spring when re-cocking the hammer with this great add on. I also like the aesthetic. This is an excellent, custom fit product that requires no skill to install. It is an exceptional upgrade for very little $$. Absolute must have upgrade.
Pros:
- Excellent upgrade at low price
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Lever Action Rifle

Hammer extension
Purchased the hammer extension for my 45-70 gov't. because after installing a Leupold optic in it, it was mot as easy to pull back the hammer. The extension was easily installed adn could be installed on either side of the hammer. It provides quick access to the hammer now.
