This is an excellent single handgun safe. Stores my commander size Sig 1911 Tacops with a 4.7” threaded barrel and Streamlight TLR8 installed. Easy to access, customizable 4 button code that allows multiple buttons to be pressed/saved and uses both wall plug and battery power.

Highly recommended for a bedside safe.

I just got off the phone with the "call in person" for trouble shooting about the Gun Vault i bought from Optics Planet. Within 2 years of purchase, the key pad is not working, so i am left with a safe i can only use with a key. So much for the "ready aspect" for this safe. The call in person would do nothing to take care of the defect in the safe. Whats worse, i bought three of these safes for my kids. I have not heard from my kids if their safes are having the same problems. In any event i can not recommend Optics Planet or Gunvault as in my experience neither are reliable.

Bought the MiniVault Deluxe Handgun safe. After 1 year, it drops the finger combo within minutes after you program it... and you have to go get the key. I called customer service ( ADAM ) and we tried to work thru the problem. After it dropped again, he checked the manufacture date ( 2007 ) and said without the receipt there was nothing they could do OR WOULD DO. I then spoke with the supervisor ( Rafael ) who told me he could not help me without a receipt. Needless to say, I cant find the receipt and after pulling my CC statement, which only gives the amount paid- not the product..... I’m screwed with a bulky, useless piece of dung.
Do yourself a favor and go with another product or get one of those cool pieces of furniture that conceals your weapon.

Great product. It's a little loud unlocking, I catch the door on the way down to help with the noise. I really like the power cord so I don't have to rely on battery only. I use it twice daily and haven't had a problem.

So far so good. It'd be nice if it were a bit larger but it holds a pistol and an additional mag. The safe works with or without the included AC adapter and the controls are nice and tactile. It seems well built but I did have to spray the top foam with 3M adhesive spray. You remove the top padding to add the battery and there are strips of tape to keep it in place. Those strips continually failed without the adhesive. It works great now.

Great option for added security of valuables. Portability adds option to take it with you while traveling or for use in a vehicle. The interior foam is a bit thin and flimsy and may tear with frequent use.

This was the perfect safe for me. My HK fit great inside and programming was simple. The door opens very quickly and with some practice, pushing the buttons becomes second nature. I would recommend this for someone who is looking for an affordable handgun safe for use inside the home.

I found out about this model from a random dude in a gun store who owned a defense training business. What he raved most about was the POWER supply as some of the reviews of the battery-only models showed that the access was denied before the 9V was completely dead. In this model there's still a battery backup (recommended to be changed once a year), but the primary power is AC/DC, so you KNOW it's going to work EVERY TIME. We found it easy to setup and program, and I loved the grooves for placing your fingers in the dark and the fact that only 4 were necessary. It's worth noting that part of your "code" can be more than one button pressed at once to further protect your safe from access--especially from the kiddos. Also, I love the 5 second courtesy light that allows you to easily see the gun when the door opens in the dark. Some complain about the beeps, but we found them to be mild and quiet as well as helpful to know a button was effectively depressed. It's small and holds my Sig P238 380 with two extra mags, so I would imagine it being a good size for 1 handgun (or two tiny 380s without anything else) and 2 extra magazines. I can't find a single thing wrong with it, and OpticsPlanet gave me a great deal!

Does exactly what it is supposed to. Fits perfectly into nightstand. Opens easily with combination on tips of fingers. Has more bells and whistles than I need. Only problem is that the foam on the top does not stay in place as well as it should and sometimes droops down.
