Not sure how secure the lock is, but chainsaw car thieves don't carry around a lock pick set, drill or anything that can open this quickly, it feels sturdy enough to where slamming it against the ground or prying it with a knife won't do anything to open it, as long as you have the cable tied around something fixed in your car your typical thief won't be able to get into it or take it with them.
Putting my p365 (small carry gun) inside of it fits pretty snug, and unfortunately will not fit my compact holster without really squeezing it in which I don't like doing.
It also can be a decent night and safe, but it's not the quickest to get into, and if you don't have it tied to something it would be easy for a thief to walk away with and open when they have the tools.
