This is Hera Bad!
I outfitted one of my AR's with the Hera stock and forgrip and it looks pretty sweet. It feels nice and durable and has multiple mounting locations for your choice of sling. I kept mine all black but it could easily be painted in a variety of ways to personalize your rifle. There may need to be a li...

Mixed Feelings
Hera Arms has done some fancy marketing, but seemed to lack somewhat in actual product. The plastic seam on the stock looked great on top, but wasn't what I would call quality on the bottom. The pic rail on the bottom left something to be desired, I would be hard pressed to trust attaching somethi...

Disappointed
1rst Hera stock came with a pistol grip screw that was waaaaay out of spec and nearly destroyed my lower receiver. Thank goodness i had a reliable gunsmith. 2nd purchase, literally the same issue, only this time the grip screw was the same and the buffer/ QD mount / locking screw stripped immediately . So, the only way to finish the build was to take out alllllll the screws, all covers and attachments to loosen the body of the stock to "force" it off. In the process my buffer tubes last 2 threads were ruined and buffer tube scuffed. To anyone interested in this set up, beware, theres a frikn washer inside the grip hindering property installment and lock up. No matter which pistol grip screw you try to use. (Updated 2-23-2026)
Pros:
- When it all comes together, if it all comes together.
Cons:
- The pistol grip screw is from 2015, qd lock up screw is horrible. Replace immediately
Would recommend: No
Tomorrow war build!
This is my 2nd set. Easy to install. Decently modular. Solid build. Easily resell to airsoft and special build nerds who cant find it. Turns heads and makes basic clonesr feel boring. Lol.
Pros:
- Price, style, unique, comfortable
Cons:
- Grip screws sometimes are out of spec. Spacers for LOP for buttstock hard to find
Would recommend: Yes

The ar15 model is what I ordered but I instead got the ar10 model they look almost identical but the stock doesn’t fit flush with an ar15 reciver and is ment for a dpms pattern ar10 lower.

Does not fit with all castle nuts
This item is not a universal item. I would recommend to anyone that purchases this item to be aware that mil-spec means minimum standard met. I would not recommend this item for purchase. Looks cool but not very functional in my opinion.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- not universal
- grip could be better
Would recommend: No

Great, but....
Great look and ergonomic. I loved that it has all parts included along with an incorporated pistol grip. My only issue was with the installation. The pistol grip nut was at an angle so in order to install it, you need an Allen key with a ball end which I didn't have. Second, the castle nut and end plate need to be as simple and basic as possible like on any other AR platform otherwise the stock will not slide on properly. I usually like my endplates to have a QD attachment or special locking mechanisms so I don't have to stake them to the castle nut. Overall it's still a great stock and gives my AR a nice futuristic look and feel.
Pros:
- ergonomic
- Aesthetic
- All parts fit
Cons:
- Install a bit difficult
Best Used for:
- ar 15
Would recommend: Yes
Worth the Trouble
Installing this stock can be difficult, which I’ll explain, but once you get it on it’s very enjoyable. There’s a hex screw that you have to install from grip to your lower, and it’s in a difficult angle to thread into the lower receiver. They include a shorter hex screw to help you do this, but it did not work for me because my lower is fine threaded, and the included screw was corse threaded. So I had to use the screw I had on my previous grip, which is longer. In order to do this I had to take the entire stock apart (stock is held together with torx screws, and once apart, the Ca compliant plate is removable) to get better access to the grip portion of the stock, to get the correct angle. BUT, when I did this there was still plastic in the way not letting me get a good enough angle for the grip screw to thread properly. So then, I had to file down some plastic inside the grip. Finally I got the grip screw in while one half of the stock was on and put the other half back together making the stock whole. After this long process the stock was finally installed. Side note- you won’t be able to tighten or loosen your castle nut once stock is on, armorers’ wrench will not fit. After going through all this I’m still giving this stock 4 stars because it works great once installed and it looks super cool.
Pros:
- Looks awesome
- Very ergonomic
- Feels great, fun to shoot
Cons:
- installation can be difficult
Best Used for:
- range & target shooting
- Long Rage Shooting

Great Looking Stock, but....
Great looking and ergonomic but installation was a bit of a hassle. This stock does not work with any special end plates or castle nuts. Those parts need to be as plain as possible. 2nd issue with installation was the integrated pistol grip bolt. It required an angle with a hex key to try to tighten it down and if you don't have a special hex key that has a ball end, you're going to be frustrated. All-in-all I still love the look, feel and handle of it on my AR.
Pros:
- Price
- Comes Complete w/ Everything
- nice
- Ergonimic
Cons:
- Install a bit difficult
Would recommend: Yes
