Clips break
I like the general design, but the tabs that hold the plastic clips broke after a few training sessions. Not "go-to-war" quality. I'll probably look to use some more standard molle straps and see if that holds.. but the first impression is not great.
HSG X2R TACO
This is a great item with expandable material and well made. I can have 6 mags vailable for use of ither 308 or 556.
Pros:
- accessing the mags with ease
Cons:
- a bit cumbersome to put in place
Best Used for:
- Tactical training/ everyday wear

Husband loves it
This was a gift for my husband. It fits a multitude of mags and has a locking piece so the mag doesn't fall out. He's already replaced his old mag pouches with this one. 10/10 recommend

First HSGI purchase and not disappointed
This was my first purchase of any HSGI product, so I'm probably saying what's already been said before. I mainly bought these because they fit both AR and AK mags, but they're also sturdy, light, and quality made. Once I customized for my setup, they offer strong retention but with a smooth release. They won't keep mags from falling out if you're shaking them upside down, but for normal use they should keep just about any rifle magazine secured. There is no way to retain mags from the top by bungi or velcro flap, but it can be done with a little time and effort to customize to your fit.
Of course, as with most things quality comes with a price, and these weren't the cheapest mag pouches by a long shot. Selection can also be limited, sometimes with delays of several weeks/months to ship depending on your preferences. I actually paid extra for the dark multicam, and still had to wait 3+ months for delivery; so if you're picky about colors than you could be waiting for a while.
Great quality and function, but at a higher price and sometimes limited selection.

best system for belts and plate carriers
I was very surprised how well these retained 30 rd AR mag from GI to Magpul as well as AK steel and Magpul Mags. Very easy to install, seems like they will hold up to a ton of abuse as well. I would highly recommend these or any from HSG (esp the TACO pouches). On a side note one of the plastic attachment clips came missing when I got it but I contacted HSG directly and they sent me a couple free of charge! Great service!
Pros:
- Price
- color
- Retention
- Funcionality
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- back packs
- plate carriers
- belts

Can't be beat
I wanted 1 setup that I could use to support several different rifles. This pouch easily accommodates Ar-15 mags, AR-10 mags, and the metric Fal mags for my keltec RFB. That way I don't have to change my carrier / hill people gear recon kit bag, each time I want to run a different rifle magazine type/size. With the warranty it comes with, made in the USA and the fantastic stitching, this is a product that is well worth its price IMO.

Taco mag pouch
Good quality mag pouch, holds the mags well and secure and it is easy to draw fast. Has a low profile on my plate carrier and seems to be relatively durable. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is serious about shooting.
