A great addition to my Remington 870 Express
The Remington 870 is going to be my "camping out in the middle of the nowhere desert" firearm. I want a shotgun that I don't have to worry about and don't have to wipe down and oil every time I come back from camping. I also wanted it to blend in with the surroundings. The answer was a tan Hogue overmolded stock and the metal in a slightly contrasted tan or brown Cerakote finish. The stock is well made, very strong and won't react to changes in the weather like wood. A great stock & forend at an exceptional price through Optics Planet
Pros:
- light weight
- Strong
- Won't react to weather
Cons:
- None that are apparent
Best Used for:
- Any firearm you don't want to worry about scratching, dinging, oiling or polishing

Great Upgrade!
Can’t beat the price and this is a much better stock than OEM! Don’t sweat it and pull the trigger in this one. Usual Hogue quality at the right price so you won’t be disappointed. XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

Hogue Rem 870 stock
It's a Hogue stock. I happen to like the rubberized grip better than the standard plastic stock. However, I'm sure that's an individual thing. I also like the contrast between the matte black finish of the 870 and the FDE stock. That's a combination that I like, again an individual thing. You will need a ratchet or screwdriver extension to tighten the bolt -- attaching the butt stock.
Pros:
- rubberized coating
- Color contrast - flat black and FDE
- coolness factor - if that's important to you
Cons:
- extension to tighten bolt -- orignial stock doesn't require this
