Jerry Miculek Checkered Hogue Grips For S&W N frame

by Stan, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on April 14, 2024
First of all, don't go by the photo. These are the new models, with the NEW Jerry Miculek logo (J over M, NOT J next to M with lightning bolt). Make sure your spring is centered in your frame. If it over hangs one side, tap it over to center it. The same goes for the pin that holds the Hogue blued spring metal nut holder the grip screw fastens into. Make certain that pin is centered as you are dealing with a precisely machined grip that slides perfectly into position. Mine went on a Model of 1989, 625 and they feel as good as they look, fitting the rounded backstrap perfectly as it shows through the upper half of the rear of the grip.
Pros:
  • Beautiful look, fit, finish, & feel
Cons:
  • none I experienced
  • None I experienced.....
Best Used for:
  • Target & Competition Shooting

Miculek Smooth or Checkered

by Get Wheel, from CO, United States Written on March 30, 2022
Get both. Put smooth on friskier 610 and checkered on 627, respective to recoil. Not as big as they look, but fit medium largish hands well. No palm swell. Smooth unit seems 'slick', but was told by excellent Hogue CSR Kara that they use Carnuba wax polished into the wood. I fine sanded the smooth unit, finishing with 0000 steel wool, 15 minutes, then applied Danish oil. Outcome was excellent 'traction' and control. JM / old guys know stuff.

Very nice grip

by Alex, from PA, United States Written on February 24, 2019
Grip is very comfortable with excellent traction control. I got checkered version. Extremely recommend. Original S&W grip, what comes with revolver, was too thin for my hand. After the range my hand hurt and results was poor. With this one,I got improved my shooting with beautiful exterior looking.
