I found that the original one piece E2 grip on the P226 didn't provide me with the best feel in hand. In contrast, this Hogue G10 Piranha grip looks great, fitment is great, and it provides a better grip and feel in hand for me. Although somewhat hard to describe, the shape is slightly different and perhaps wider then the E2. The texture is definitely different (better) than the E2. This grip has been a worthwhile upgrade for me.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- great texture
- Good shape and feel in hand
- Good looks and fitment

Perfect fit on the P226, and feels much better than the factory grip. Highly recommend when Optics Planet has good deals going on.

With the Piranha grips I bought, my shot groupings are roughly half-an-inch tighter at 10 yards because there is less recoil slippage and my follow-ups shots are faster because I don’t need to readjust my grip. I don’t know any other part under $100 that can do that.
Hogue grip patterns in order of least to most aggressive are: Smooth (wooden-baseball-bat-texture), Checkered (sandpaper texture, stock grips on P226 Legion), Piranha (sanded coral texture, stock grips on P226 Zev), and Chainmail (tree bark texture). The Checkered grips I bought chafe in CCW and slip with sweaty hands but I don’t have these problems with the Piranha grips. I also bought magwell grips but they are not ideal for CCW and limited round magazines. I found what works best for me so I don’t plan on buying the Smooth grips or the Chainmail grips and I avoid metal grips because they get too hot in the sun.
I recommend buying different grips to see what works best for you and to start with the Piranha grips.

These grips should have been on the gun from the factory. These grips feel and fit great. I think besides the performance the P226 is a great looking gun. These grips add a perfect finishing touch. Optics Planet had the best price and great service.

They work great and look good. These are much better than the grips that came with the Sig P226. They are a little aggressive but not too much. I conceal carry and was worried that they might put holes in my shirts but I haven’t had any issues.

In general, Hogue grips are absolutely fantastic. These G-10 Piranha grips for the Sig Sauer P226 add one of the few last missing pieces of this gun that Sig Sauer left out ... Now that they've realized their mistake(s), you've started to see these G-10 grips start showing up on some of their higher-end handguns, such as the P320 AXG Pro. I wish I would've ordered these sooner, these make shooting my P226 MK25 feel like a completely different gun!
Pros:
- Texture
- Slim design
- fitment
- look & feel

Hougue grips are great, just the perfect feel for a gun, the right size to hold and awesome texture. The phiranna texture is awesome, not too rough for bare hands and when you grab it you know it’s not going anywhere. Hougue grips give the gun a “wow factor” and if feel alone wasn’t enough they look great also. You can’t go wrong with these grips.
Pros:
- Fit
- Style
- Slim design
- Grip

Easy to instal, slim feel and grip like a glove. Great grip retention in wet weather, sweaty hands or grabbing quickly. Excellent design and my favorite grips. Little pricey, but overall would buy again.

I have pushed three sets of these grips on all my Sig's in the last 6 months and really like them. They are very similar to Sig Legion grips , but a little rougher. They are easier for my old arthritic hands to hang on to. I like them a lot.
