I also have a swampfox which I think is a better optic and buy. Just my opinion.

First off, it’s an HS503, it’s what you’d expect from Holosun. The glass is fine, the dot is bright and easy to acquire, and it’s lightweight. The reticle, on the other hand, needs some explanation. First off, you need to have a 3x or better magnifier (I use a 5x). The BDC is pointless without magnification. Once magnified, however, it’s quite good. There are no visual aberrations or distortion and the BDC is easy to use. Zero the top of the chevron at 100 yards/meters and consult the included BDC chart for your caliber.

Super overall! �� this optic covers short range and CQB requirements. Always reliable and Holosun is always good for their word. Their customer service department is precise and will assist you. Definitely recommend!!!

The Holosun 503g Acss is my go to optic. This is my second. I also have a aim point t1. Holosun has streamlined the body of the optic a bit which is nice. Highly recommended.

My red dot worked for months and then suddenly went off. I've tried new batteries, then tried to leave the device under natural light for a few minutes. I also tried to do a quick reset then held the + sign for 5 seconds. Please advise on what I can do to get it to turn on. Thank-you

Have on ar15 with 3x magnifier and works great. Has long battery life but have not put to the test. Shake awake is nice! ACSS reticle perfect for 5.56 AR. Like all other Holosun's seems to be well made.

I’ve had a lot of time behind this optic. I’ve seen reviews with people saying this optic needs/has to be paired with a magnifier. I have mine paired with a magnifier but I have to disagree. You can easily engage human size targets out to 400 yards without a magnifier. I don’t have access to land longer than 400 yards. I believe I would have no issue using this optic without a magnifier out to 600 yards. You might not get a hit on steel first shot at 600. But the reticle’s bdc is giving you a consistent place to hold as you adjust for wind and watch for your impacts. A standard red dot even at 400 yards you’re holding on clear glass with no consistent place to hold. If that makes sense. The only issue I have, when you magnify the reticle (3x) it can cover up smaller sized targets at different distances. Let’s say you set a target up, simulating a person using cover snap shooting at you 200 yards away. Technically your hold would be the center of the chevron. The chevron at 200 will cover the targets head. Which can make it difficult to see when the target is peeking/exposing themselves around the cover. The other scenario would be if your trying to shoot targets smaller than human size around 200 yards (pop can).The chevron will completely cover the small target. It’s not that you can’t make hits on it. IMO its pros/cons. Every optic has their own. If you learn how to use the ranging features in the reticle. It’s pretty dang accurate. I've had this red dot mounted on my ar-15 along with a 3x magnifier for about a year now and it's been running great. Love the shake awake feature and haven't even had to replace the batteries yet. The ACSS reticle is a must for those using magnifiers too. Overall I'm happy with the setup for the price and would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic short- medium range setup for their rifle.

Great red dot with long battery life and adjustable settings. Removable ring is a nice option and the shake to wake to help save battery life. I would recommend this red dot to anyone interested in a good quality product.
