Hoppes Graphite Rod
* The rod came loose where it was cemented to the handle. Hoppes offered to replace it, but I didn't want to pay the postage or endure the hassle, so I fixed it myself. It's been working great ever since. Probably a fluke, and it was easily fixed.

Hoppes RG1R Graphite rod
I purchased 3 Hoppes RG1R gun cleaning rods because the price was excellent. I read customer comments before I purchased, so I was not surprised when one of the gun cleaning rods experienced a problem. The brass tip pulled away from the graphite rod. I was able to glue the tip of the rod back into place when it pulled out. It works fine now. No problems with the other two rods. For the price, you can buy several rods and toss out the rod you break or cannot fix.

poor quality control
Mine arrived with handle and rod out of alignment - so handle wobbles as rod turns. With only one moving part, it seems like it wouldn't be hard to get right.
