The one star rating is only because I won it at no cost. The cost of batteries would be a waste. Saw a good review, so perhaps mine is defective. The laser / laser light switch is lose and would have to be taped in place. The adjustments for zeroing the laser are erratic and imprecise, with the windage screw causing both windage and elevation changes. Both elevation and windage are highly inconsistent.
I am retired military and law enforcement with 50 years experience and work in a gun store. I would never consider having this device on a weapon I might need in dire circumstances.

I hastily ordered this laser without reading any reviews. After it was on it's way, I found out, that a manufacturer recommends that you REMOVE THE BATTERY (which has a life of 1/2 hour, with laser & light on), between usage. I didn't even open the package, before returning it... I don't think I'm going to get a whole lot of cooperation from a would-be intruder, to allow me to put the battery in my home defense weapon, should the situation arise. I wouldn't put this product on my grandsons cap gun, even if they gave it to me...Spend another $50 & get the trueglo (TG7650G) Tru Point Green Laser... it is a bit larger, and designed more for full-size firearms. But it is a well-built laser, with a beam that can be seen in daylight 25 ft away. The lamp is super bright, and the best news is...You can LEAVE THE BATTERIES IN, without draining the device... I am more than pleased with my replacement laser, than the EVOTech-crapola laser
Cons:
- Removing the battery between uses

Shipping was impressive. Quality product right down to the way it was packaged. Easily and snuggley fit on my gun like it was made for it. I put it on a Walther PPS 40 and it snapped into place. I functions properly every time. I don't know what else to say but they want at least two hundred characters so I am continuing to type out a review. EOTech even sent another/replacement switch which is the only moving part that is consistantly used to I think that was a great, proactive move on their part. So all in all it is an impressive piece of machinery. I am not going to check to see if I have enough words typed. If not I will ramble on somemore

Great item-however it sits 1in forward from trigger guard.
Not the best product for this specific model. The P2000 only has 1 rail
gap and it is located at the front of the slide-this compact laser system
Is better for a 3.8in or shorter barreled handgun.

Listed as "EOTech", but actually made by "INSIGHT". Not nearly the level of quality expected; the bulb is not bright at all, and the reflector casts a non-uniform beam of what little light is available. After years of purchases from OP, this is my first disappointment. Returned for refund.
Cons:
- not bright
- cheap reflector

I ordered this because it was heavily advertised as an EOTech product, and was very attractively priced. Upon receipt I noticed that it had NO EOTech markings nor had any references to EOTech in its packaging or Manual. How is one to know whether the item is really made by EOTech. And ego-driven or not, its nice to see a product stamped with a high-end maker sitting on your high-end pistol guys! Having said that- this item performs well, is made well, and is very light. The flashlight is only 40 lumens, and certainly not a Surefire that'll fry your victims retina, but is adequate for a pistol. The laser seems adequate also, given that my handgun is not designed to put a spot on a perp at 300 yards. I have not shot my pistol with this item installed yet, so unfortunately I cannot make any comment on durability, or accuracy of the laser.
Pro's: Lightweight yet appears well-made.
Very compact.
Unique activation "rocker" switch used for on-off.
Moderately priced.
Well packaged, and comes with a spare bulb and laser adjustment wrenches.
Light adjusts from wide to spot focusing.
Cons: Advertised as an EoTech product but no info or markings to identify as such.
Fairly complex to operate without ample training.

I bought this item on sale for $89.99 thinking that I was getting a great deal on an EOTech branded item. It turns out this item is made by Insight Technologies which is not a rap on them but they are two different companies that happen to be divisions of L-3. I have asked for a full refund from Optics Planet and will update this review to reflect on their customer service once the process plays out.
The item itself seems fair at best, definitely not something I would trust with my life on the line. The manual actually recommends numerous times that the battery be removed in between uses! WTF? The product has tactical in the title yet they expect you to remove the battery in between uses or the battery drains. I'm not the least bit tactical but I'm pretty sure that aint it. Either that or that word dont mean what they think it means.
Read some of the reviews of this item on Amazon and you'll see what I mean, many say it is unreliable. Not sure if this link will work but I'll give it a try: click here for Amazon reviews
Cons:
- battery must be removed when not in use. ?!
- attachment mechansim seems flimsy
- NOT an EOTech!
Best Used for:
- plinking
- maybe on an airgun or some other fun gun

First off, a quick rebuttal to a previous review. For laser only operation, one simply twists the light clockwise (as weapon is pointed down range) like a typical flashlight, maybe a quarter of a turn. The gasket is thick enough that it should still be sealed.
Super light, doesn't pull the gun down at all.
After initial zero per the instructions (25 meters) you won't be able to see the dot inside of 12 feet or so if you're looking straight down the sights. Then you have to go out and do some groups at different distances and see what's going to work for you. They do provide two Allen wrenches in a ziplock baggie and a CR2 battery. Mighty nice of them.
Pros: Light weight
Cons: Battery life

Ive had this little light for about 4 years now. It does what it is suppose to, changed batteries twice in 4 years but it saw minimal overall use. Compared to my streamlight flashlight I carry on my hip, this is no where near as bright. I would put it on par with a 3 c cell maglight as far as brightness. still disorienting, just not overwhelming like some others I use. as for fit, It fits any standard mil-spec rail. I saw another review stating it is not universal, which is untrue. It fits everything except the USP, and anyone who has a H&K should already know it has a different rail mount system than just about the rest of the industry and you need a adapter for about any mount. The only real cons I can say about the light itself is the intensity it lacks, and the inability to use laser only. It has been mounted thus far on a glock 23, m&p45, FNP-9, M&P 40 c, XD40, and a taurus millenium pro45, which it stays on most of the time due to I never carry that one. Fit everything Ive placed it on. Another draw back is on the compact handguns, such as the taurus and glock 23, you only have 1 rail slot, so it sits forward with the light head just past the muzzle and muzzle blast hits the lens. After 4 years there is some residue and damage to the lens that cannot come off or be cleaned. That is more of a mount issue versus the light as my others do it also, but no lens effects on them. overall, as for a light for the house, it would work great. I wouldnt take it into combat or a hou...

It's a good but not great investment. However, I do like the fact that it doesn't really affect the weight of the gun. It's a breeze to install and operate. The light is sufficient and would have been better if it was an LED. The light remains on at all times even when the laser is in use. Would have preferred an option there. Overall, it looks great, operates with ease, and fits like it a dream. It's worth the money!
Pros: Ease of installation and operation.
Cons: Low light and no laser only operation.
