Most Helpful Positive Review Available and inexpensive - and it does what it should
Fyi; I bought this stock without having an actual need for it but I will replace a heavier one I run. I did so after reading the review that says "The made in USA stamp is Big, ugly, and distracting"....Stay in California please.
Most Helpful Negative Review JE Machine Tech Stock
I bought this stock for a cheap retro clone build I'm currently working on. It definitely looks the part but I didn’t realize it was made of polymer. I also notice there's some wiggle room in the stock. I bought the CA compliant version, so you’ll have to use a hex key to align and adjust the stock.

Cost effective alternative

by Fedexbicman, from OH, United States Written on October 16, 2024
Looking to put together an XM177A2 look alike/clone. Didn’t want to spend the almost $300 on an actual metal milspec metal butt stock. The JE Machine Tech was a great option. For me it has a similar look and it works for me. Feels rugged and fits great. Functions well and I’m happy.
Pros:
  • Good look and function
Cons:
  • Not metal
Best Used for:
  • Look alike builds

A lot better than I thought it would be

by Dave, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on September 22, 2023
The quality of this stock is a lot better than I thought it would be. It is made from durable hard polymer not cheap plastic.
I like the made in usa printed down the side. I am pleased especially for the 18 or 19 bucks I paid for it. It fits snugly on my milspec buffer tube, hardly any rattle whatsoever way less movement than a magpul moe stock.

Piece of junk.

by John, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 7, 2023
Not what I ordered, received the California compliant version. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MODEL. Release is for looks only, this is essentially a brace. The detent pin is just a bolt to hold it onto the buffer tube, there is no sliding detent or spring assembly. Any adjustments must be made with an Allen wrench. It's pretty much trash and now a pain to return.

highly recommend 3.9 oz!!!

by Dave, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on January 7, 2023
If you are looking for the lightest stock on the market, I weighed it on my scale, and it was only 3.9 ounces. I was shocked that everyone thinks the MFT stock is lighter, but it is significantly heavier than this. I actually think it looks pretty good. Once I put it on my gun, it did not latch on the closest notch to the receiver because it is a four position stock. But it is no etheless awesome. Slight wobble but no biggy.
Pros:
  • price construction quality
  • weight and ease of use
  • Cost & Quality
Cons:
  • Wobbles
Best Used for:
  • AR - 15

Excellent for the price.

by TNjack, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 10, 2022
I wanted the retro look, but was not interested in spending $100 or more.
This stock is perfect for my needs.
I'm not as anal as a lot of guys about minor looseness.
This stock has some wiggle on the buffer tube, but no more than my 3 MOE stocks.
I seriously doubt I'll need to worry about stock rattle getting me shot while I'm sneaking up on an enemy.
It is made in the USA which is a plus, and seems very rugged, especially given the <$25 price point.
I don't mind the large Made in USA logo, but to each his own.

Cheap but not great

by Matt B, from CA, United States Written on September 22, 2021
Only $18 but I regret not buying a better one. The large MADE IN USA stamp is ugly and distracting. Fit on a mil spec tube is loose and wobbly. The next cheapest car15 stock is 3x the price though so keep that in mind.

Very Nicely Made

by CORPS TAC, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on August 10, 2021
I have been using the JE SOPMOD stock since they first came out with theirs and it onky cost $25. That is a excellent stock and is made extremely tough.
Ive been wanting a Gen 1 stock for a while but most are junk unless its a Colt which is at least $100 nowadays.
I figured Id try the JE gen 1 and Im glad i did as its also built extremely well and tough.
A very well made stock at a great price and its made in the USA
Pros:
  • Made in USA
  • built tough
