This product looks great. It is well made, and feels light weight. Give your Ar platform something that stands out amongst the crowd!

I purchased the 17" for a 308 build using a 22" Criterion BBL and an Aero M5 Upper. I was also able to find an adjustable clamp-on gas block for the .875" bbl. that fit perfectly under the rail. I was surprised at how sturdy it was being such a long length. Optics Planet had the hand-guard in stock where everyone else was out of stock. I also trust Optics Planet when it comes to offering original products and not knockoffs like some sites do.
I give it 5-stars

Super nice handguard, pain in the butt to install/ remove. Tube threads match my dpms g2 bull barrel nut and seats perfectly square. All the extra hogwash is unnecessary and just makes it more expensive. Also take too long considering they want you to red thread lock the barrel nut to the receiver. I use rockset and heat cure for 1 hr. Its also easier to release rockset.

Was told this industry is more of a "catch the fisher and not the fish", when it comes to these things. I heard good things about JP but now I'll be sending my handguard back a second time, in a row. Bad quality controls/checks whatever you like. Also got fooled by the fact these hand guards are NOT machined compatible with any of the universal mounting systems. You WILL need to buy JP's proprietary mounts as well. Wish I'd known that b4. Idk who raves about this company's quality. Perhaps I just keep getting lemons.
Cons:
- Can never get parts or machining correct

Product seems well produced. But can't be installed. The product descriptions are not accurate. Check thread pitches on your upper receiver and verify the PN with the manufacturer 1st, NOT with the descriptions Optics Planet provides.

Jp definately makes high quality products. You wont go wrong there. Love the looks and solid performance of this handgard. It is large in diameter. It is a little more complicated for the beginner to install. A little expierence and shouldnt be a major issue to do. If I did it, you can. The cons. It only comes in a limited amount of lengths. Wish they had more. Its not bad priced for a solid handgaurd. Be aware that mlok attachments will not fit it. Its round so they make their on to install. Sold seperatly ofcourse. So if you plan on atraching a lot to it you are going to spend a lot more money for their attachments. They dont have a whole lot of attachments for it so you may be limited if you have something particular in mind. They are also out of stock a majority of the time. It is a great handgaurd just might not be for you. If it is I highly recomend

Definately does not lack on jp's standard of high quality. Its rugged. It is knurled enough to give you good grip but not too nuch to be uncomfortable. Its a bit on the larger side so those with smaller hands might want to keep that in mind. It looks amazing. Definately not your boring traditional handgaurd. It gets attention. I love the old school machine gun look it has. Definately going to hold up to extreme abuse. They are designed with military and especially law enforcement in mind. You do have to use jp's picatinny sections or attachments if you plan on adding accesories. Not a ton of options but the ones you get are really good. This can also drive your handgaurd into a much higher price range. Keep that in mind if price is a concern. It is a bit over designed and not the simpliest handgaurd to install. If you have a little expierence building guns this should be doable. If your not good at building guns, then you made need a gun smith or good friend with expierence to help you install. It has to be adjusted to be centered on your barrel. Its really not that hard to do just a lot of parts. There is a video for the install to help on youtube.

I’ve just got to say the as I said in the title JP Enterprises has excellent craftsmanship. I have the mid length on my 6.5 creedmor and it’s excellent. But I have only one caveat regarding the AR 15 handguard, as far as I can surmise the AR15 handguard does not have enough clearance on an .875 barrel to clear an adjustable gas block. In my specific example I’ve got a Beowulf .50 the barrel is an .875 and through research there is not an adjustable gas block even a low pro that clears the handguard. So my basic deduction is if you are building anything with a .875 barrel with an AR15 receiver and you want to run an adjustable gas block this handguard will not clear your adjustable gas block. In ending I’m just sharing my experience to point out that I can’t return the handguard since it’s been installed and that’s costly lesson. I’m out the money spent. I hope this review helps anyone building there rifle and they don’t make the same mistake I did.
Pros:
- Great quality, solid manufacturing. Very nice product.
Cons:
- Will not clear an .875 adjustable gas block with an AR15 receiver

I like the simple design of this handguard. Makes my AR look simple and means business. This handguard also feels solid and good in the hands thanks to the stippling design on the handguard. The downsides I can see to this handguard are the installation steps that are required to install this handguard may seem like a daunting task, it's a bit involved, and the rails that JP Enterprises sells for this handguard are quite pricey. I own and have installed the Fortis Nightrail handguard and I thought that handguard was quite involved in order to get it installed. This handguard takes it a bit further with a few more steps than the Fortis. It's nothing difficult but I highly recommend that you take your time and there are videos on YouTube that can assist you if the written instructions don't make sense to you. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
Pros:
- Feels good in the hand
- Looks simple
Cons:
- installation can be a bit more involved than other handguards if you are new to installing handguards

It’s a very nice quality handguard. All nicely packaged and all the parts are very well finished I highly recommend it. The only thing that it down mention is that you need a 1 and 3/8 crow foot wrench to install it. The instructions aren’t very clear on that point. Oh it also needs to be set between 40-80 ft lbs of torque
