I did my homework and knew what I was getting despite it's "con" i listed. I like it, but do your homework and be prepared to red locktite the external nut (yeah there are two). Pros: stiff, feels good, good fit and finish Cons: doesn't come with any rails, they're extra... and not cheap

Solid mounting hand guard

This hand guard is very well made and has an aggressive texturing that gives the shooter an excellent grip. The tube mounts to the receiver using a threaded bolt and screws, rather than just tension like most free float tubes. The outside circumference of the tube is also slightly larger than most I've seen. This is great if you have bear paws like me, but if you are looking for a low profile free float hand guard then this is probably not what you're looking for. Lastly, this hand guard has a bit of heft to it. I wouldn't go so far as to call it heavy, but it's not exactly lightweight either.

VTAC Handgaurd

I installed this handguard on a Colt LE6920. Installation was relatively easy once the original sight was removed, but removing the tapered pins from the A2 front sight gas block was a nightmare. I ended up having to use a 12 ton press to get them out. I really like the handguard and will likely get the extension. It is very sturdy
Pros: This handgaurd is very comfortable to hold. The slightly rough texture provides excellent grip and the handgaurd allows you to add rails only where you need them rather than having a gun that looks and feels like a cheese grater. It is very sturdy.
Cons: Expensive. The directions call for installing with permanent loctite. I used the removable Loctite however with no issues.

The JP Handguard is very well made and beautiful. Setup will be a bit challenging if you don't have tools, but it's worth it.

What I wanted looks good and functions great

If you want to assembly in a day get the instructions ahead of time to assemble some of the things needed. If you want to align it precisely with the upper make sure you have a rail, it is a lot easier. Hand-guard looks good and the finish is rough and easy to hold on too. One of the few hand-guards available 16" long.
Pros: Solid, feels good, hands don't slip, light, 16"
Cons: Could be expensive if you need a lot of rails
