Most Helpful Positive Review kenetrek desert guide boots
I've always purchased the best boots for hiking , regardless of price , then a friend told me the Kenetrek boot products and all the choices , so I ordered a pair , couldn't wait for them to get here and wear , from the first time I wore them I thought this is amazing the fit and comfort level was great , felt like they were already broke in , wore them 12 hours first day. Great traction on all conditions and when bending over the boots gave in the correct , so no pinching , the extra padding was nice. I live in the southwest , so we do a lot of hiking , also I'm a NRA Range Safety Officer a...

Fat old guy that walks a lot

by Dean, from NV, United States Written on January 3, 2022
I’ve worn Nicks, Vasque, Asolo, Keen and more. Bought my first pair of Kenetrek Hardscrabbles in sept. Of 2020. Need to be re-soled so I’m buying some Desert Guides to wear while I wait for my old ones. Awesome boot! No break in, just happy feet!
Pros:
  • Superior fit and quality
Cons:
  • Soft sole wears quickly
Best Used for:
  • Your feet!

Tough boots

by E, from KY, United States Written on December 26, 2021
I have a pair of insulated and uninsulated mountain extremes and wanted a boot that is a little cooler. I bought the desert guides and these boots are great. They seems a little stiffer during break-in but that’s no problem. These are a bit roomier inside than the ME’s due to having no waterproofing in them. I would buy these boots again.
Pros:
  • Excellent craftsmanship
Cons:
  • price

Elk beware...

by Kbar193, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on December 30, 2020
I have owned, backpacked, and hunted in several different brands of alpine boots over the years (Asolos, Meindl, Vasquez, Danner, and Salomon). I have a wide forefoot and narrow heal. I've always struggled with blisters on my toes or heals depending on the brand of boot. About a year ago, I purchased the Mountain Guide 400s for late season elk and mule deer hunting. I never got a single blister wearing them on several hunting trips and packing several animals out of the back country. After that experience, I purchased the Desert Guides for backpacking and early season archery elk hunting. No blisters with the Desert Guides either! I couldn't be happier and would give these more stars if available. As long as they keep making them, they will be my go-to mountain boots.
Pros:
  • Tough, comfortable, with good grip and support
Cons:
  • Not waterproof (easily fixed with Kenetrec boot wax)
Best Used for:
  • Alpine and arid country hunting

Kenetrek Desert Guide Boots

by CRU, from AZ, United States Written on December 12, 2017
We bought a pair of these boots for my brother for Christmas because my husband has a pair and loves them!! He said you can’t feel any rocks and his feet are never sore.. He highly recommends them and plans on purchasing more in the future.. He uses mainly for hunting and hiking in the mountains and deserts of Az.
