I have tried many triggers in a lot of different guns over the years, and this Kidd trigger is in a class all by itself. I had purchased a 10/22 Mag Tech and wanted to improve the trigger. Also, I had two Ruger 25 round mags that were sloppy in the gun, and very unreliable. With the new trigger, both work flawlessly. I just completed a Steel Challenge match with the gun, first ever with it, and came in 2nd out of 50 shooters.
It is very pricey, but you will not regret it. I had never had a single stage, but am very happy with it. I have not measured the trigger pressure, but it must be around a pound with about 1/16" of travel with a reset of feels like 1/32". Just amazing!!
Pros:
- Super short reset
- The best you can buy
- Super short travel
- Makes Rugere 25 RD mags work
Best Used for:
- Steel Challenge, competitions

Got this for a new 10/22 build.
I already have couple of 10/22 with Kidd trigger job installed.
If you already own a 10/22 trigger housing then it is more economical to get the trigger job.
If starting from sctrach go with this as the price is very close when you get a ruger trigger+trigger job+ bolt catch+ spring tuning kit.
I could not tell a difference between this drop-in trigger and trigger job when set at similar pull weight. Only advantage is the trigger pull weight can be changed easily on the drop in trigger with set screw as opposed to taking apart and replacing the spring for the other ones.
One issue I ran into was the hammer strut protusion was hitting the stock at the back making the action less smooth. I contacted Kidd and they advised to file out a little bit off the protuding end, which solved the issue.

Replaced 10/22 trigger. Easy change out. Inside the box there is a big warning label that says do not dry fire before it is in stalled. They really mean that!!

Kidd Innovative Design has arguably the best upgrade parts for Ruger 10/22 rifles. I have not tried one of their complete rifles but I'm sure they are every bit as good as their component parts. I purchased this trigger unit to replace the last piece of Ruger on my rifle other than the receiver. Just outstanding quality and the trigger pull is nothing more than pressure and then a clean break. Definitely worth it!
Optics Planet also did me a solid. I ordered a trigger unit I mistakenly thought was in stock but it was 30 days out. They offered basically the same unit, other than trigger color, with the same discount and it was here in a few days. Very pleased with the service at Optics Planet every time I make a purchase.

Avoid buying the BX trigger, being upset with the length of reset, then having to buy this like I did. Its Pricey but how often will you be pulling the trigger vs to something else like an AR. If you go often and shoot 400-500 rounds, then its not as big a deal do spend this much on a trigger. No Take up, No overtravel, perfect break, perfect reset, the trigger face feels comfortable and flat on the lower section and curved on the upper section. The cons are the bolt hold open is small, similar size to the factory and difficult to engage, the magazine release also feels tough and clunky to release like the factory mag release, although there is a long/speed magazine lever available directly through there website. Watch Rimfiress YouTube video comparing all the triggers for the best overview and why this is the obvious choice.
Cons:
- bolt hold open and magazine release

This is an exceptional trigger. I didn't want to buy it, because of the price. It's very expensive. So, first I bought the Volquartsen, and returned it, because the creep was awful and the edge of the trigger is sharp. Then, I got another Volquartsen, because I didn't believe it could be that awful, but it really was. I returned that, too. I am happy with this Kidd trigger.
Best Used for:
- versatile trigger - use for anything

The Kidd 10/22 single stage trigger assembly is pricey, but well worth it. The trigger pull is easy to adjust. Pre travel of trigger is very short, almost non existent. Crisp break with very little over travel. Has short and destinct reset. I really like this trigger. I tried the ruger bx trigger first and though it was an improvement over the stock trigger, but it doesn't come close to Kidd trigger. There is more to a trigger than just having a lighter pull weight. Kidd has perfected the 10/22 trigger. If your budget allows, this is the trigger to go with. My only exception might be to go with the Kidd 2 stage trigger for a long range precision platform.
Pros:
- Adjustability, easy install, quality, pretravel, break, post travel, and reset.
Best Used for:
- Competition, hunting, and having fun plinking.
