Unfortunately the stock assembly from the factory is limited in its function. The folding stock bracket from the factory is plastic. This new kit includes a Magpul adjustable stock with a metal folding stock bracket. This combination adds strength to the whole stock system and is a huge improvement over the factory stock system.

My stock came in today, was very excited when I opened the box until the install was taking place or the attempt to install. Before it would go inplace a rubber male had to be used and also to remove it. To extend the stock, well it's very very hard. I like the look and when in shooting position it feels great and feels better than the factory scar stock. It doesn't make any noise when carrying rifle but if you need to field service the rifle ( good luck) without a rubber mallet. I am very disappointed in the unit and for over 300 dollars It feels like that money was thrown away.

At first I liked the thing, even though I mentioned in earlier review its overpriced by about 80$ or so, but after first trip to the range I noticed an insane amount of slop in the thing. It moves about the hinges, axial and radial play at that attachment point by about 1/4 inch at the top.

Thats nuts, for a 250$ product, that is unacceptable, and I will be contacting Kintetic Development Group for a fix, or at the very least to tell them how their QC is garbage.

Its a good product, well made, better mounting option than the standard plastic, which is stupid in my opinion... 3k for a rifle, I shouldnt have to worry about the plastic breaking on any part of the gun if Im rough with it.

Anyways, its an improvement, but minus 1 star cause its overpriced by about 70-80 bucks if you ask me... but F it, cant take my money with me when I die so whatever.

I was thinking there would be some benefit to this overpriced stock. The one that comes on the scar is easy to adjust length of with one finger this one you need to crush in the heavy springs on the buttons with 2 fingers on both side of the stock to adjust.

Then the cheek riser only goes half as high as my factory stock and also its a pain to adjust vs the original.

Also my factory stock slides off for disassembly. this one I used a rubber mallet to get on and off..
Overall this thing is a 100% downgrade.

Fit and feel is added bonus. Easily installs. Better than factory stock assembly. Your mom will love it. Your friend will want one for his or her rifle. Bring it to practice. Magpul is amazing quality. Pair it with KDG and it's double the top quality.

A good idea poorly executed is a bad idea.

At first glance this looks online to be professionally constructed and designed. However after installing this stock I noticed a few problems. FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY if you get anything from this review know if you install this item it doesn’t make a great link to the back of the scar. At the bottom there’s actually too much play with the folding mechanism allowing for the lower to wobble.

SECONDLY the folding mechanism is made of solid metal and worries me that you lose the flex with the higher quality OEM stock. With the folding mechanism being metal I believe it would wear the bolt carrier group faster with the high recoil slamming into that metal plate instead of allowing the dissipation of force with a normal plastic backplate in the original design.

Thirdly and again with the folding mechanism being metal Kinetic resolved the fact that you can’t clip the stock once folded by making it lock into place on the hinge by add a slope with a spring somewhat locking it into place. My main issue is that we have metal on plastic causing the hinge to be very easily worn down because of the metal rubs off the plastic slope and over time the stock just freely swings after short use.

Lastly I’d like to add I’m actually a fan of KDG and this is the only items that disappoints me. I’d honestly be willing to pay more if they made a second generation with at least half of those fixes applied. They did a good job on the battery comp...

Overall, the stock looks and feels like a better quality product than what comes out of the factory. Adjustments to the length of pull and the cheek piece are smooth to adjust and solid when set. The KDG stock does not rattle or feel loose like the factory stock. Replacing the old stock with the new one was very easy. The tolerance with the metal back plate of the KDG stock provide a secure fit the the upper and lower receiver. Do some reading on this product before you purchase, as there are other reviews indicating that the metal back plate creates undue stress on the screws in the rear of the upper receiver from the recoil of the weapon. I use a precision armament .30 caliber muzzle brake and have not noticed any issues.

Don’t buy this stock unless you want to deadline your scar and not be covered under warranty. All you have to do is do a little bit more research on why this stock sucks so hard. Looks like you’re stuck with the ugg boot forever

The Stock is quality! The only draw back is the QD on the butt of the stock. It needs to have one on each side of the stock, instead of only on one side of the stock! The only other nag on this was the shipping! It took nearly 4 weeks for me to get the stock delivered! Hey its not the 1990's anymore.
