I'd owned a version of this compass previously and was very pleased with it. After giving it as a gift to a friend, I realized how much I wanted one to replace it. It's an excellent design. Eschenbach puts out a prismatic version that costs 5 times as much as this one, but it's not 5 times better....

A very nice compass for the money. It is heavy very heavy. Not a pocket or pack compass, keep this one in the truck or boat. Well made. tripod mount and level bubble. Id buy it again.
