Finish is very nice. the reciver extension threads were just barely off so I lapped it untill it timed with the upper reciver tight. The carbon fiber itself has the slightest twist AK it's level at the handguard but not towards the muzzel end. still love it.
Most of the weight is towards the reciver end and it is very solid.

The upper reciver extension was close to threading on directly, it was 1/8th of a turn so I milled off a very small amount of material then lapped it until it tightened to the upper and lined up with the gas port. this handguard takes a little eyeing and patients to get it lined up right which is important because of the red locktite. once its installed it's very solid and 90% of the weight is towards the barrel nut end.

Lancer Systems makes great products. I had problems chipping a few teeth on the barrel nut with the Magpul barrel wrench, but it went on ok, chipped teeth dont show anyway. Not sure if it that was my fault or a materials issue, so I wont take that any further. My build was a lightweight theme, and I wanted to get a titanium barrel nut... but theirs are proprietary. Cooling slots are not .275, so not M-LOK compatible; also proprietary. Their rails are not cheap. Also, Lancer needs to engineer harder on slot placement. Had to have my gunsmith drill a hole on a LCH5 just to get a vertical foregrip and laser-light on a 4 inch rail mounted on the under barrel of my SBR (6 oclock position). Even with that, I had to reverse the backer plate to make it work.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- bling
- best composite handguard on market
Cons:
- Expensive
- low availablity
- proprietary rails
- proprietary barrel nut
