I refuse to part with my 516 so this was an option, after some years i picked one up and i am very happy with how it looks and feels.

Fit beautifully on my Sig 516. Nicely lightweight and rigid. Extends hand-guard for better purchase and allows for more room for accessories. Looks great too. Surprised by how robust the carbon fiber seems.

Wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I have to say I'm surprised by the quality of this item. It is very stable and firm for a carbon fiber item. MLOK slots are a big upgrade from the factory grip. Brings the 516 into the modern era.

This is a must for Sig 516 owners!
It post the balance back in the middle of the gun rather then out front.
Night and day in handling now . Also being carbon fiber you do not need rail protector. This dose not heat up !

My complaint with the stock Sig 516 is the forward weight of the firearm... it's forward heavy, not balanced.

This thing is fantastic. When mounted It feels great in the hand. The carbon fiber, fit and finish is quality stuff. It's not substantially lighter than the stock Sig 516 Patrol picatinny rail grip. What is does extremely well, is re-distribute the weight aft, i.e. moves the CG (center of gravity) back to the mag well.

Having replaced the handguard, buttstock and buffer. The latter a Doublestar Skelton ARFX and JP Silent Capture Spring. The net effect with a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 scope, yields a firearm which in the hand is supremely well balanced. The CG is centered on the mag well just slight behind the breach. It no longer feels like I'm trying to aim a one ended dumbbell.

I'd have clicked 6 out of 5 stars were the screw hardware not garbage and complete with all necessary screws. The unit ships without the two screws that secure for locking lug seating on the barrel nut. The stock handguard on a Sig 516 Patrol uses two longer counter sunk screws. This unit requires shorter caphead screws. The real gripe is the cheap metal screws that secure the upper to the lower halves together. The hex heads strip like made of silly putty.

That said, in the end, despite the inconvenience of replacing some screws. I'm totally pleased with the my purchase. I hope my complaint about the screws gets attention.

This handguard is something special. Fit is perfect, easy to install and looks sooo sophisticated at least in my eyes. Love it! Don't think twice if you can afford or wait for some promotions. OpticsPlanet have them often. Thank you OpticsPlanet for quick shipping

I have replaced the handquards on 3 SIG 516 upper receivers with no problem. Good fit, easy installation with all tools included. They greatly improve the balance of the weapon and provide a much better feel when shooting.

I purchased this handguard to lighten the foreend and create better attachment points for accessories. Both goals were achieved. The Lancer Handguard was pricey, but I would buy another one if I had another Sig 516. It made my rifle much more comfortable and easier to handle.

It was relatively easy to install. I did it myself in about an hour (and I took my time).

Outstanding quality, very light but strong and stiff. Fit was perfect and it looks great. Don’t lose the little screws. I mounted the long version on a 14.5” barrel upper so have to remove the handguard to service the piston but it’s not a problem.

I wanted a longer hand guard and decided on this one. The finish and quality are excellent. The install is very straight forward and was easy to do. Looks great and I can now grip further down the rail. I get lots of compliments and would buy again.
