Simply stops working and no customer support
I used this unit for about a month before it simply stopped working. It was all indoors (never was wet), no bumps, no drops, no real shocks to the unit other than going up and down stairs, and it just died. I called the support line several times (I had to leave a message on a basic answering serv...

steiner dbal-I2
a nice lower cost alternative to the atpial laser. I wish eotech would put it out in green laser as for me I prefer the green. the IR is nice but I dont see much use for it unless you have night vision gear and a plan to use it.
Pros:
- cost and features
Cons:
- Unknown durability
Best Used for:
- Quick target accusition

steiner optic
Perfect item for my tactical build. East mounting and great. The best for the tact driven operator of the time. Be the light in the world of darkness. I compared similar products but Steiner stood out about any of the others.

very impressed
wow, when I took this laser device out of the box and gently held it in my hands, I was truly impressed. The build quality makes this thing a piece of art. Now I'm not so sure if I really want to mount this thing on a rifle and larp around. I really really don't even want to get it dirty let alone scratched.

Worth Every Dollar
Receiving my Steiner DBALi2. It's already mounted on my AR. Thoroughly tested, home zeroed, and ready for the range, hunting and outdoor sports. The weight is hardly noticeable. Paddle control is set in the right location. What more is there to add other than it's a great product, offers incredible value and is a must have.
Best Used for:
- Range, hunting, outdoor sports.

- nighttime hunting
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Hog hunting and predators

DBAL nice tight little package
The green laser has high&low and the IR has high&low... both work great. Battery life seems very decent. Packaging is exactly what one would expect. Overall I love this civilian version of a military grade laser.
Pros:
- Size & Weight
Cons:
- Laser wattage
Best Used for:
- Nighttime hunter

Good perforamance, reasonable price.
I have yet to try the IR laser. The green laser is nicely visible and it's easy to sight it in vs. a red dot sight. The green laser may not be ideal for bright and outdoor use outside of maybe 15 meters.
May not work well for a lefty without the pressure pad, as others have mentioned. I wish there were a second switch to allow for momentary vs. constant on. I suppose it's not that big of a deal to double click the button.
I inadvertently left it on and had a dead battery when I checked it out. The spring tension made it slightly awkward to change the battery. Probably not something you would want to do in a real world scenario. Avoid putting a DBAL-I2 too close to the front sight as this might interfere with battery changes. Fortunately, the battery is quite short.

DBAL-I2 Review
Optics Planet was running a smoking deal on these back in November so I decided to give one a try. Its been great so far and I cant wait to try it out with NODs. The visible laser is easy to pick up and the pressure switch is easy to manipulate. I would definitely buy again.
