Most Helpful Positive Review LaserLyte Mini Boresight
The spud has a little screw and a plastic 'doohickey' on the end that you adjust to get a non-wobbly fit in the bore. I only sued the smallest doohickey. A slight adjustment - 1/8th of a turn - makes all the difference between an unacceptably loose fit and an unnecessarily tight fit (be careful and ...

The laser it's self is not a problem. It is bright enough to show 50 to 70 yards with no problem, maybe a lot more. It comes with a treated paper target laminated with a plastic film that reflects the laser light and literally lights up from a long distance, so when your light hits the target, las...

Perfect laser bore sighted for smaller barrels

by Aegert, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on April 18, 2025
This worked great for my carry pistol. My other slighter can’t support barrels that small.

Great for zeroing

by Alio, from CA, United States Written on March 18, 2025
This Lazer is brighter than another Lazer I've used in the past. The shaft also seems to be thicker and less prone to warping like others that have thiner shafts. I used this to zero my rifles and pistol. Not the greatest in direct sun but fine early morning or dusk even overcast.

Beware short barrels

by Doc Lobstah, from ME, United States Written on December 26, 2024
Works great for my long guns, but my M&P Shield Plus has a 3.1 inch barrel and this is definitly NOT long enough despite the description stating it is appropriate down to 3 inches. I would say no shorter than 3.5 inches to be on the safe side.
Pros:
  • Great for longer barrels
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Long guns, larger pistols

Works,but could be better.

by hpequine, Verified Owner from NE, United States Written on October 5, 2024
Could be better for the money. Will not fit 3 inch barrels and the power switch is cheap and hard to used. Better buy extra batteries because they not last long. It will get the job done but not the right items if you need to use often.

Pros:
  • Came fast in the mail
Cons:
  • laser will not stay on and when is on is not bright enough

DisaPOINTing

by ICU308, from OH, United States Written on March 16, 2024
GR8 idea , but takes some time to assemble and make it "operational" . Batteries fit in to back of switch , which is gritty and difficult to turn ON and OFF . Caliber arbors to fit onto laser body are held onto body with tiny screws that do not readily screw through the arbors . Took a major amount of time to thread them . Once screwed onto body , must adjust screw tension on arbor to fit bore and hold body in place . There is no "recommended" distance to align scope to bore axis . Performed alignment in basement at 40 feet , rifle retained in Caldwell cleaning base . Laser bright on supplied target , aligned reticles vertically and horizontally to ZERO . Verified next day at 25 yard range . Should have taken LaserLyte with me , but did not . First , and second confirming shots were 6 inches high and 2.5 inches left . "On the paper" , but I expected better . Would recommend removal of batteries for safe storage . This test was done on a Ruger 10/22 with a Bushnell Trophy 4x10x40 . It now shoots half inch groups consistently with SK Standard Plus .
Pros:
  • Close but not exact
Cons:
  • Have done as well bore sighting

Save your money for something better

by Range meister, from PA, United States Written on October 1, 2023
Purchased a new unit to replace my "old" unit which worked perfectly.....until the switch wore out or a solder joint went bad after 4 years. Didn't know it had a 3 year warranty or I could have sent it back after the first sign of the switch going bad. I had to adjust the old one once to recenter the beam and it was pretty easy to do, had instructions for it as well. New unit did not have instructions on centering the beam and the company epoxied the adjustment screws in place. I checked new unit for center. It was an inch off at 8 feet - that's a 2" circle at 8 ft. Do the math and you wouldn't even be on the paper at 50 YARDS. I wouldn't give a plugged nickle for the new units. I narrowed down my switch issue with my old unit to the spring that rides against the batteries. I'm a design engineer and expert shooter so I know what I'm talking about. If you have a fix, please advise. I contacted the company and got that I did everything they would do to get it to fire up correctly then told to just purchase a new one. Of course, I waited like 7 or 8 years which I can't gripe much about, but a switch like this to go bad? I've also done endurance testing on components and assemblies and never had a switch wear out like this. Would not recommend getting this unit no matter how many say it's one of the best. Well, it isn't good enough for the money.
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • works with all calibers listed
Cons:
  • on/off switch breaks prematurely
  • any accuracy needed for sighting would be hit or miss
  • Company's QA must have went downhill
  • company was not customer friendly when contacted
