good idea BAD Quality
I shoot less than 50 rounds and the laser started to distort. It started to look like a key hole. Sent it in and they said it could not be repaired but if I would send them $309.00 they would send me a new one. I called I explained that I had only shoot 50 rounds or less and it broke. They said they would look into it. The laser was shipped back to me still broken. I just trashed it. Called 6-17-15 and asked if they still make guide rod lasers for 1911 and they said they no longer make them. There are to many different makes they say. It is a great idea to have the laser in the weapon but they have a long way to go with quality and reliability "The World's most rugged & Reliable Lasers" what a joke.

Poor quality, poor company
Follow up to a previous post: I had three of these sights, all quit working right. The third one quit working AT ALL after only 10 shots. Then LaserMax won't refund my money, only offer yet another exchange. Why would I want another one of these? And for well over $300?

Not reliable
The sight started out great, but after a few shots, or when you shake the gun, the size and shape of the laser dot changes. Not very useful. For the price, I expected a much better product.
