M-1 Carbine scope mount
Easy to install, no need for gunsmith, just a wood dow to remove the pip sight on the rear, always use lock tight, strong rails and lots of room for mounts.

Not as advertised
Product advertised as not requiring gunsmith assistance, and installs easily in minutes. Product cannot be installed without removal of rear sight, and removal is a gunsmith job. Perfect! Mounted easily, satisfied
Installed easily and worked great! I was amazed at how easily it installed. The mount was perfect for my carbine. I have not shot it yet but had no issues at all with this mount. Optics Planet is my go to source for this type of product and help is always available!

Not easy to install
If you have the tool to remove your installed rear sight then you should have no issues. If you have a Universal M1 good look trying to find the tool and a gunsmith will be required. Product seems good but until I can find someone to remove my rear sight and install the new screw plate I’m just not able to provide further information.

Great rail for carbine
I am a gunsmith in Texas and used this on a clients gun. This is a great rail for the M-1 carbine. The only problem is that the screw is too short. It only contacted the threaded attachment by 2 or 3 threads and stripped as soon as I started tightening over hand tight. I bought another longer one at the hardware store and it worked perfectly.

great mount
I got the mount for my universal M1 carbine a few days ago. I was expecting the worst cause of the cheap price but I gotta say I impressed with how secure it mounted. the sleeve on that goes into the dove tail slides in a little easy but once you put the mount on and tighten the bolt, its not going anywhere.

m1 carbine scope mount
I had to get a gunsmith to remove the rear sight and install the mount. Took my carbine to the range and after only 3 shots the scope and mount came off in my hands. The nut attached to the dovetail sleeve came off the sleeve. Sent it back and giving it one more shot. I may end up getting the mount that mounts/replaces the hand guard. it looks like it would be more secure.
