Most Helpful Positive Review I was pleasantly surprised
I felt I was taking a bit of a chance, buying this particular scope.....I felt I could always return it if I did not like it. I was very pleasantly surprised when I recieved it. I seems to be unique among long eye relief scopes, that it actually has a very good field of view. And the optics are ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Nice scope but have a few things to keep in mind!!!!
I purchased this elsewhere but I felt that I needed to put in an review for this so others might find it beneficial. First, let me talk about the good things. The scope is well made and feels very solid. Image is very clear and I love the circle dot reticle. It is the main reason I got this and it...

Nice reticle

by Armed Trucker, from MA, United States Written on June 12, 2020
The scope has good eye relief and maintains zero. I put 50 rounds through my Mosin Nagant and it stayed on target. Good scope for a “scout” setup. If you’re also looking for more than just red or green illumination, you have found the right one!
Pros:
  • Refer to review.
Cons:
  • Illumination barely seen in very bright conditions.

Complete junk

by Tader, from MI, United States Written on June 11, 2020
Mounted on my Sig MPX with supplied mounts, I laser bore-sighted and managed to hit a 4x8 sheet of plywood @ 60 yards. All adjustments made after would not hold zero. And adjustments led to unpredictable results. I do not recommend and regret buying.
Pros:
  • Packaging was nice
Cons:
  • will not hold zero
Best Used for:
  • paper weight

by The Falcon, from MO, United States Written on March 23, 2020
The utg scope is it all around quality scope as an introductory value it does have the ability to withstand my 308 and holds its hundred yard site the various colors works well I actually used the burgundy on a foggy morning the only con that I have is the rolled Edge on the spring loaded mount rod ...but so far worth buying
Pros:
  • Great Value clear Optics
Cons:
  • Underside Mount rod

great for price

by Shamus, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on September 15, 2019
For what I paid, and the application I intended (place on a bolt rifle) this scope more than fits the bill. The 36 color illuminated reticale is decent for waning light situations but disappeared in full sunlight. I choose the mil dot version and like the sight picture. Glass is clear, scope is well made. I have no regrets. It isn't a high price product and you are getting more for your cash than expected. Therefore a high rating and a happy customer.
Pros:
  • price construction quality
  • Clarity , field of view and ease of adjustment .
  • mounting rings included
Cons:
  • Weight - little heavy

Scope review

by Spragg78, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 22, 2018
Good scope. Easy to install and use. Switched to this from red dot because of my vision. Works well at all magnifications. Illumination feature is nice. Easy to switch between color and brightness settings. For the money it’s a great first AR scope.
Pros:
  • well made
  • Clear
  • Simple
Cons:
  • A little big

Long Forward Mount on M1 Garand

by Harris, from GA, United States Written on April 30, 2016
Actually a bit hard to find long eye relief scope at low magnification for forward mount on M1 Garand. So far so good. Mounting no problem whatsoever, Holds zero through first few rounds. Will give it real workout after North Georgia's out door burn ban starts.

Good scope

by Benny, from IN, United States Written on November 20, 2015
I needed a long eye relief scope for my Kel-Tec sub 2000 and this is just right. The numerous different colors are great. The scope isn't super heavy so the Kel-Tec still feels balanced. The scope seems to be durable, it was knocked off a table and still kept its zero. I haven't had it long enough to report on that. I only gave it four stars because the illuminated recticle is too bright for night use even at its lowest setting but they are great during the day

Long eye relief 1 x 4 x 28

by sam, from ID, United States Written on November 12, 2015
Received the scope and put on my Winchester Model 94 carbine 30-30. I needed long eye relief due to the top ejection on this rifle. The description said like 10 inches of eye relief and I could see clearly with the scope at 1 or 2 power but when the power was moved up to 3 or 4 it quickly got the tunnel effect. At 4 power I was chasing the sight around small tunnel. If I moved my eye up within 4 or 5 inches (very uncomfortable) it cleared up. The view is clear and crisp, the crosshairs illuminate nicely, and overall it is a nice scope but not for a long eye relief as I needed. I ended up purchasing the 2 x 7 long eye relief and although quite large looking on a short rifle it works very well with a beautiful sight picture. It has a much larger optic on it making for a better option for a long eye relief scope. It even gets a tunnel effect on 6 or 7 power but up to 5 it works nicely. The higher power is not really needed on a short range rifle like mine but it is still there. It has a parallax adjustment that also helps with clarity. On my rifle I had to purchase some Leopold mounts that moved the scope far enough forward to clear the rear of the scope with the ejection port.

Great scope

by Frank, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on October 28, 2014
I purchased this new scope based on the UTG/Leapers name and OpticsPlanet's fantastic return policy ( if this scope wasn't quite what I was looking for). I own several other UTG scopes and other products and have had great success with them. This scope is of high quality. I put this scope on my Ruger 10/22 tactical rifle and had it sighted in 5 rounds at 100 yards. I love the long eye relief and the bright/clear optics. Great scope!
