Most Helpful Positive Review Good Scope
Leaper has a good Scope here. I love that the AO allows you to focus at close range. So far it will hold up to any recoil, stays on target. Its it has pretty clear glass for the money. I would buy again.
Most Helpful Negative Review you get what you pay for. . .
You get what you pay for as far as quality goes. this scope would probably be great for rimfire rifle where your longest shots will be <125yds. the illumination is really nice, included rings are ok, and the overall scope is ok. The magnification clarity leaves a lot to be desired. After mounting mi...

Magnum air rifle rated

by Huntnstuff, from CA, United States Written on March 9, 2024
One of the few optics rated for use on magnum air rifles. I did hours of research to find a one and done piece of glass for my gamo pro 1300 and I’m glad I chose this. While the magnification seemed high at first for a pellet gun, I actually like it now. Glass is good and it tracks perfectly. Has a crazy amount of options for the illuminated mil-dot and an awesome warranty. Customer service from optics planet was above and beyond (again) and the price best I’d found anywhere. You can get higher priced glass all day long for rifle use but put it on a gas/spring air rifle and you run the risk of it falling apart. Save yourself the hassle and just do one of the utg true strength platforms and be done with no worries about it falling apart.

  • Gas/Spring Air Rifles

UTG 6=24X50

by BamaHound, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on June 19, 2021
I've used this scope for almost a year with over 300rds fired holding zero and no issues. Glass is good for the price but is slightly distorted at over 20x. I am rating at 5 stars compared to others in it's price range not scopes over $600. I use red and green and think the other 34 colors are useless to me. It came with the heavy mounts, shade and flip up covers that made the package deal worth the price. This scope and the bugbuster are my favorites
Pros:
  • price, holds zero, came with shade, heavy mounts, flip up covers
Cons:
  • slight distortion over 20x
Best Used for:
  • anywhere a scope is needed

Budget Scope Performs

by freedombirdies, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on October 23, 2020
I put this scope on a precision .308 build while I was waiting for some cash to come in for a higher end scope. It's a great budget option for learning to shoot long range without breaking the bank. I can't say how it will hold up long term for an AR10, but a few hundred rounds in it is doing fine. I've shot out to 800 yards with it so far. Pinging 10 inch steel with ease.

Would'nt zero

by Cole, from OK, United States Written on June 18, 2020
Got this scope mounted on my .224 valkyrie and wasted 80 rounds trying to get it to zero at 200 yards. Dont waste your money on this scope. Gun was also on a gun sled and 1 click would move it 3 or 4 inches off.

Good scope

by dishdog, from LA, United States Written on November 24, 2019
Using this scope on my 6.5 Grendel. So far it's doing great, if using good ammo I can get about 2 inch groups at 100 yards so it's holding zero pretty well. Have several UTG scopes and they all do really well.

Inexpensive but well made scope

by Philip, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on February 17, 2019
Bought this scope to use in 50yd .22 LR benchrest matches. I mounted it on a Kimber 82 bull barreled rifle. Using Norma TAC 22 I was able to quickly zero the rifle and the scope tracked perfectly through the adjustments. The locking of the turrets and the ability to set them to zero will make it easy to return to the original settings. The illumination is nice but not needed in this discipline.
Pros:
  • Locking turrets, set to zero
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • precisiion shooting

The Leapers UTG 6-24-50mm Is definitely well worth the money

by BEK, from MO, United States Written on June 6, 2018
I own two or three of the scopes now all of them have been very easy to dial-in and I have not had any problems with them so far I would recommend the Leapers UTG 6-24-50mmto anybody. I have the scope on guns from my 17 B mag all the way up to a 7mm. And so far they have withstand everything I have put them through . I am looking at purchasing a Remington police special edition bull barrel 300 WinMag and I am probably going to purchase one of these scopes for that gun also .

Great Varminter Scope

by Volfy, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on November 16, 2016
I've always been a Leapers UTG fan and have them on many of my air and powder guns. Bought this for my Savage B-Mag heavy barrel. Shooting at small targets at the range and accuracy that .17 WSM is capable of requires higher magnification range than the typical 3x9. The UTG 4-16x50 I have on another rifle would work well also, but wanted to give this one a try.

The very limited exit pupil at the extreme magnification range makes it a bit difficult to center my view through the scope, but the larger objective lens does help. Also, image becomes less contrasty at higher than 20x, but it's only a problem at low light (after dusk) and otherwise perfectly serviceable. Are there better glass? Absolutely. Find one that cost barely over $100... I doubt it.

I would have preferred side focus/parallax adjustment, like on my other UTG scopes. This scope is rather long and the reach out to the front bell is a stretch for me.

It's long scope, which is actually a plus, as it allows for more fore-n-aft positioning on the rifle. I've had problems with shorter scope on long action rifle, where I couldn't set the scope far back enough to set the correct eye relief. Rarely do I have a problem with "too long" a scope. It is, however, on the heavy-ish side. Since it is going on a heavy barrel varminter, which I do not intend to shoot off-hand, it is a non-issue.

I have grown very fond of UTG's standard MIL dot reticle and lockable target turrets. For rimfire and especially air rif...

My RWS pellet gun has destroyed many scopes and this is the first scope that will withstand the forward recoil of this gun. If you need a scope for your rifle of any caliber, get this one!!! Oh, these also have a great warranty.
