mil-spec buffer
This is a standard mil-spec buffer, with removable weights in case you wish to upgrade to tungsten weights later for a heavier buffer. It's nothing flashy, and is typical of the buffers that come with receiver extension tube kits. This part would be better at about $5 cheaper, though. It serves it's function, and there isn't much else to say about it.
quite nice
This is a great buffer. Smooth and hardened coating. I never understood people paying 3x this price for a standard buffer.
Pros:
- Price
- Build
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- freedom building.
Would recommend: Yes
Carbine buffer
I added yhis buffet to a recent 300 Blackout build. I seldom have a brand new AR pistol/rifle not have a few hiccups the first time shooting. The 300 ran like a typewriter, zero malfunfunctions!! Buffer weights play an intregral part in cycling an AR weapon.
Pros:
- competitive price
- Functions as advertised
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Carbine and mid length handguards
Would recommend: Yes
Inexpensive and effective
Inexpensive and quality AR-15 carbine buffer tube. I prefer a bright finish for my buffers so I can more readily identify how dirty they are, and this one fits the bill at a reasonable price. Easy to swap weights due to quality rubber end cap and in-spec roll pin.
Would recommend: Yes
Recoil buffer
Standard 3oz recoil buffer. Nothing fancy quality is milspec. Great price and perfect to have in your spare parts just in case you need to swap one out. Will be buying more. Definitely recommend this product

Inexpensive quality buffer.
This is a good quality buffer that is very inexpensive. It works just fine and is nice to have around in case you need it. I am actually considering getting a few more just in case. Highly recommended.
Pros:
- good quality
- Inexpensive
- Functions well
Cons:
- N/A
Would recommend: Yes
nice mil spec buffer
standard mil spec buffer, nice finish, good price and fast shipping. You can change out the standard metal weights for tungsten ones. Not really that much more I can say about a buffer. It's a good deal grab a few you never know when you'll need one.
Would recommend: Yes
hard coat doesn't seem to be a gimmick
the frugal shopper that I try to be, I have purchased a couple inexpensive buffers, the black colored ones are soft and where the rear of the bolt carrier smacks the face of the buffer, there is noticeable damage to the buffer, also, the black buffers seem to me to have more friction/drag in the buffer tube than the UTG does, ie, the action cycles smoother. I have 2 of these and the price is right and they are holding up as well as or better than a more expensive one I have.
Pros:
- value smooth and durable
Cons:
- none yet
Best Used for:
- all around AR build
Would recommend: Yes
Leapers UTG Hard Coat Recoil Buffer
Basic carbine buffer, what more can I say? Looks similar to others such as the Guntec, polymer pad seems to be a different durometer (a touch softer). Weights inside move just a touch more than the Guntec but not noticeable when in use. Buffers are pretty much all the same, might as well get the least expensive.
