Most Helpful Positive Review It does just what it's supposed to
I have several of these sights installed on air rifles. They are set up for a weaver or picatinny rail, so one needs a converter from the dovetail slots on most guns, but those converters are cheap. (I order mine from China and they're a dollar or two each.) It has excellent windage and elevation...

Most Helpful Negative Review Right on the Money
I bought a Mossberg 500 from Walmart and wanted to change it into a home defense weapon. I put UTG's front sight and Picatinny rail on the gun. I had a harder time getting my hands on the rear sight (thank your Optics Planet - only place I could find one). When I put the UTG rear sight on the sho...

Great upgrade from plastic factory sight

by Cat Dad, from IL, United States Written on August 8, 2020
I added a couple tatical ghost ring shotguns to my collection and had plastic rear sights that were ok. The UTG is a great upgrade all metal elevation and windage adjustable. The peephole is much smaller(better) than factory and can be easily drilled larger if wanted. Best deal I've found on this type of sight.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive but good quality
Cons:
  • Might be hard to find them in stock.

Nice product

by Sugarbear, from CA, United States Written on January 16, 2019
Nice and sturdy fits well the eye hole is quite small which is great for a rifle where your eye is close to the sight but I think the size of the sight hole is too small for a pistol The sight adjustment seems to work nice and the finish is up to par.

Good little rear sight for the money

by Mongojoe, from OK, United States Written on January 25, 2017
I bought this sight to put on my wife's tac shotgun. She was wanting something to make it more accurate when shooting slugs. This little sight should do the trick...and the price was certainly reasonable... However, it does require a Weaver-type mount, which will cause it to set a bit higher than I expected...so, before I mount it I am going to have to replace the front sight with one that sets higher.

Perfect For Ruger 10/22 to M1 Conversion's

by Biff, from OR, United States Written on October 29, 2016
I'm writing this review to help "Kurt, from IN" & others in his situation - Because Optics Planet won't allow me to comment on other people's reviews.

Kurt, the Picatinny rail system was developed in the 1980's by the US military/NATO - check Wikipedia for more info. As you discovered, it is different in size than the Weaver/dove-tail mounts found on most 22LR rifles, even the newer models.

Fortunately, there are adapters available that mount to the Weaver/dove-tail base & have a Picatinny rail on top - heck of a lot easier than shims ;-)

Optics Planet has just such an adapter for only $7.95, search "Ncstar 3/8in Dovetail To Picatinny Rail Adapter Mount MAD38PS" UPC: 848754002310

Judging by the pix, it looks like a nice solid unit. I definitely like the design & would not hesitate to use it myself. Be sure to use loctite on the screws, but, ONLY use the low strength type so you can remove the base if need be.

Hope you find this review & give the NCstar adapter a try.
Pros:
  • compact
  • Low cost
  • Easy to mount
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Small Bore Rifles, 22LR & Mag, 17HMR, etc

Good quality compact sight...

by Dave L., Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 18, 2016
Good lo-profile back-up iron sight, which fits under a red-dot on a riser. It says .22, but I don't see why it couldn't be used on an AR or AK. Perhaps others know more. NIce quality for the price. Another UTG winner.

Good sight

by Kurt, from IN, United States Written on February 23, 2016
This is a good peep sight. I got it for an old .22 that was handed down from my father. Seems well built, but my only issue was that it doesn't quite fit the Weaver rail on the old .22 rifles I own. I don't know if this is due to the age of the rifles having a slightly narrower than normal Weaver rail, but a small set of shims should fix this issue.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • well-made product
Cons:
  • None
