Red's Review of Hi-Lux Optics Automatic Ranging Trajectory ART M1200 6-24x50mm Rifle Scopes, 30mm Tube

I did have high hopes for this scope. It arrived well packaged, but upon opening it up, there were immediately noticeable issues with the finish. On multiple surface edges, the black finish had been rubbed off, and there areas of rough metal on the base. The painted numbers and lines were done so very unevenly. Biggest gripe has to be the way the base fits, or actually, doesn't. The base mounts up with a very noticeable gap at the rear end, and I have to assume that's not on purpose. If it is...bad design because that allows for a lot of vibration. Scopes should be locked down, this one isn't. The reticle illuminated unevenly on the left and bottom. I could have gotten past it but this isn't a $100 scope, so little "settling" should have to be offered. With the base, it's very heavy, I never mounted this scope up due to these issues, but I imagine it would be a lot more tolerable on your own quality base and rings. Maybe I got a bad scope, maybe not, but this one is going back as a defect and a low quality scope for the price. I can't speak for accuracy or use of the Camputer system, as this never got mounted to my rifle due to the defects and issues described, but I can say that the instructions given don't cover everything. I expected that going in from other reviews I've seen, and can confirm that YouTube will be your friend if you decide to get this scope and want to learn how to use it. I tried to love it...but I don't even like it. Marred finish, uneven paint, rough edges, tilted base and uneven reticle are just too much for me. It screams QC defect and I won't chance finding out what else is sub-par.
