Most Helpful Positive Review Great bang for your buck press!
After much research as a first time reloader, I decided to purchase this kit as I didn't want to spend the money for a progressive press from Dillon as newbies are generally advised to start out with a single stage press. I am reloading only 9mm, .380 and 10mm as of now and a single stage is just to...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not so awesome
I purchased this item over a year ago and it has been a nightmare. It has not auto indexed correctly since day one. I attempted to research fixes online and contacted Lee to see if they had any other advice. Didn't really get anywhere with either method tbh. I eventually got use to manually indexing...

The leader historically

by Splashdog, from FL, United States Written on August 11, 2025
Lee brought reloading into the user home front. Lee equipment is quirky but reliable & made in USA. Reloading can be as precise as the operator needs it to be.with patience & set up Lee delivers.people using equip should not slam it round knocking dies loose or otherwise affecting end results then blame the company for their stupidity. If speed and quality I'd desired purchase a dillinger or similar commerical set up.
Pros:
  • Price with good quality. Gets the job done. Supporting historical company.
Cons:
  • Patience & good set up helps achieve results.

Ten years in!

by EJ, from ID, United States Written on May 16, 2023
I load everything from 5.7x28 to 6.5 300 weatherby. The biggest problem I've encountered is turning the turret backwards when the perss is in the down position. It won't index properly if you do that. I'm totally satisfied with mine. I don't use the Lee powder measure, I use RCBS and Honaday to eliminate the powder slobber.

Simple Loader

by Bill, from TN, United States Written on March 12, 2022
I got the Lee Classic primarily to reload pistol rounds. I like the 4 die set as easy to factory crimp. Proper set up is important for longevity of turret parts. Ordering extra turret plates makes it easy to change calibers.

Waste of money

by Not a Lee Fan, from MN, United States Written on March 4, 2022
I have run into a few different issues with several of the items in the turret press kit. The first one is the powder measure, it leaks from around the drum and on the back by the arm. I've tried different levels of tightness on the screw, I opened it up and cleaned it out a few times, I tried coating everything with graphite powder, I ran about 50 loads through, and it still leaks pretty bad. I'm using Winchester 296 powder. Also, I'm not sure if it's a problem, but the measure hole in the drum doesn't seem to fully line up with the funnel coming from the bottle. I'm getting about a .4 grain swing either way, which seems like a bit too much when loading 15.7 grains. I noticed the mount for my Safety Prime is broken, the tab that keeps it from hitting the ram is missing, so it keeps popping off unless I hold it out of the way. And I'm getting a few dropped primers too. I got a case length gauge to go with the cutter and lock stud, and the threads were missing, not stripped, just missing like they were never machined in the first place. I also bought a 300 blackout die set, and the full length sizing die is leaving a scratch in the case. I'm a first time reloader and all these issues have come up already, so it's making it hard to get into reloading when it feels like I'm stopping at every step to fix something. I will not be buying any more Lee products. Save up a little more and buy RCBS or something else.

Good deal, works well for reloading .45 acp target ammo.

by shadetreemco, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on November 20, 2021
Was affordable, shipped quickly, all arrived in 1 box. The press itself assembled easily, but was slightly out of time. A quick watch of the videos on lees website, and it was setup. Wife has timed me at 50 rds in 23 minutes, cleaned and deprimed to start. Very affordable for a learning teloader.
Pros:
  • Easy setup, affordable, efficient for handgun.
Cons:
  • Was a little off time, has a .03 variance across rounds.

Good quality and price

by Marco, from FL, United States Written on October 4, 2020
Item is good quality at a good price. It would have been nice if it had been in stock when I ordered it. Would have also been nice if it took less than 6 weeks to arrive. But hey nobody's perfect, certainly not the shipping g department. Last three orders from them were packed by an irate toddler chimp.
Pros:
  • Price, adaptability
Cons:
  • Shipping time was way longer than expected
  • And very poorly packed

Lee classic turret press

by reloader, from MI, United States Written on August 28, 2020
Everything you need to start reloading. You will need to buy turrets and dies for each caliber that you want to load for. It is also a good idea to buy a bullet puller because you will make mistakes and you will need to pop the bullet out to recheck everything. I've used mine to load hundreds of 9mm and 45ACP. There are plenty of videos out there to help you set it up. Lee makes a great product and I highly recommend.
Pros:
  • excellent
  • Excellent machine to get you started
Cons:
  • None

Great press

by Lee Turret, from PA, United States Written on June 5, 2020
The turret press was easy to put together and use. Reloaded 100 rounds of 44 mag in no time. Keep a 1/4 wrench close by to make adjustments as needed. Will recommend to my friends. Competitive price. Lee customer service is pretty good with their information.

Lee Classic Turret Press

by Newton, from KY, United States Written on May 16, 2020
Quicker than expected shipping on this item, arrived in perfect shape. I LOVE this press! Took me a bit to understand all the details of assembly, but after that it worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this press to anyone who does low to moderate volume shooting and wants to save a little money. Most of all to me as an engineer, it's just plain fun. The powder volumes are spot on. Can't wait to shoot the rounds I've reloaded.
Pros:
  • Great design, low cost, works as advertised.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • low to moderate volume reloading
