Reviews & Ratings for Lee Auto-Drum Powder Measure 90811
— 7 reviews — Page 1
I'll be blunt. You can pay 5 times as much money for a quality powder measure and you still won't get one that drops more accurately whether you are using spherical, flake, or extruded powders. The more expensive powder measure should last longer than the Auto-Drum, but for this price, I can afford ...

The arm that controls the drum that dispenses the powder is easily bent and at times the drum fails to rotate.
This would be better if it was metal.
Another thought would be to make the drum out of clear plastic so you can see if a charge passes through.

Fantastic product for the money. It’s not the strongest product in the world, but it works great with the understanding that it will need to be replaced. I got about 8000 rounds out of my first one until I wore it out. After 8000 pulls, I think the plastic parts wore out and wouldn’t drop consistently anymore. Just got my second one. I reload on a budget and my theory is to buy a $30 powder drop every 3 years instead of spending 4x more for a one time purchase of a stronger one. It comes down to how much you can afford to spend at once considering all the other equipment you need to get started. If money wasn’t an issue, we would all love to have a table full of Dillon stuff.

Easy to set on a lee 4 hole turret press a few minor adjustments I was good to go. Followed the instructions pertaining to power measurements and obtained a accurate power charge every time. I would recommend this product or any of Lee press or equipment.

Reloading

Quick changes of dropped powder make load developement quick. Tension chain adjustment quick and easy but if you bump it you might loosen the tension and not reset the powder drop! Squib load coming up! Also adjustment of the rim belling could put you on the margin of consistent powder drops. I will stick with this and see if I can trust it but for now I'm watching it more intently than my development.
Pros:
quick hopper removal
quick changes of powder drop
may be metering more accurately than my scale
Cons:
quib risk by not resetting powder drop
speed risk due to adjustment of rim belling to minimum

Lee needs to make some changes to this new case activated
powder drop. It locks up, spills out powder which is costly
and of course the powder makes a mess. Had to clean
the press completely. I sent it back for a refund.
It's a piece of junk..

I HAVE LOADED ABOUT 200 ROUNDS OF .223 AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT FOR A $35 POWDER MEASURE, THIS THING ROCKS. NO SPILLAGE AT ALL. I GAVE IT FOUR STARS SINCE I DON'T KNOW HOW WELL IT IS GOING TO HOLD UP AFTER A COUPLE OF THOUSAND ROUNDS. TIME WILL TELL. DON'T HESITATE ON THIS ON, CHECK THE YOU TUBE VIDEOS AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I AM SAYING.
Pros:
Price
Ease of use
accuracy
