Lee hand prime

by Usmcpmi, from TX, United States Written on February 23, 2022
While I realize the design change had to do with possible detonation of primers in the tray, Lee dropped the ball with this design. Very jerky operation, primers fail to feed consistently. Literally have to let the handle snap back into the open position to allow the next primer to drop into the anvil.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • poor design
  • Failure to feed
  • Jerky operation

not recommended for SML priming modules

by Rick, Verified Owner from HI, United States Written on December 31, 2021
I bought this hand- priming tool to prime my priming modules for my muzzleloader. Maybe it's only me or the system I'm using, but I've only had bad luck. First time I've used it, the primer only seated halfway so it got stuck, and I had a difficult time getting it out. The second time I used it, I hyper-extended my thumb, and then it got stuck again because it only seated halfway. The problem is that with the system I'm using, you have to press really hard to get the primer to seat all the way. I've had better luck using the Lee hand press for priming my modules. To me the hand press takes about the same amount of time as using this hand- priming tool. And much easier. I don't know how good it is with priming ammo cases. Maybe it's better for ammo cases. But if you're using it for your muzzleloader priming modules, i would either get the Lee hand press or find a different brand for your hand-priming tool.

auto prime

by disapointed, from PA, United States Written on January 25, 2020
first one didn't work most of the time Lee told me I didn't know how to use it. After more calls they sent me a new one with modifications but also fails to feed primers and some come in sideways.I had an old primer the only problem was the handle would brake other than that it worked great. The new one is junk compared to the old style.

Works as advertised

by Don Wray, from MS, United States Written on February 27, 2016
I got fed up with the safety priming system on my turrent press. This hand primer fits my need. Seems to seat them properly and with little effort. I haven't suffered the priming holder seperation some other reviews I've read have encountered.
