Long range shooting
Leupold makes great optics and their accessories work just as well. Their sun shade just screws into place in five seconds. No tools. No worries. I went to the range pulled off the front cap, screwed the shade on, popped the front cap back on, and back to business. I find with this shade the target becomes more clear to me.

Bought this sunshade for my leupold mark 4 hd 6x24x52, it fit and threaded perfectly to the scope.

Blocks glare!
This shade works very well for blocking the sun. It looks cool on the front of your scope too. Leupold is a great product, I have had no problems with anything I've ever purchased from them. Also opticsplanet is a great place to purchase from.

Simple and functional
Works wonderfully. Provides excellent protection against sun and is unseen while on. The bikini cover that comes with the scope does work with these when installed. Be careful, they can easily cross thread if you're not cautious.

Why should you pay $50-$60 for a Lens Shade?
The answer honestly is that you shouldn't. This lens shade is good quality, fits well, and works as intended. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out why it is so expensive ($60 retail). Yes, Leupold optics are high quality, made in the USA, and some of the best in the world. This Lens Shade is also made in the USA which is probably why it is so expensive, but it honestly doesn't feel any nicer than other brands made in China that are half the price.
Would I still buy it again? Yes. I just think the value for what your getting isn't there so that's why I knocked off a star. Aside from that, I'm very happy with my Mark 4HD and this sunshade.

The product ordered speaks for itself. The service from Optics Planet was and traditionally good. The freighter carrying it is a pain in that they have a poor tracking system that leaves the end user mostly up in the dark on the status of the goods in shipment.
