nice scope with a few things to be aware of...

by jhanns, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on March 2, 2015
This optic is on par with Leupold's top-end scope offerings; you can expect to be well pleased with the light transmission and optical clarity you're paying for. If you are looking to mount this to a tripod and aren't planning to use it inline with other optics it is rock solid, although I'm not completely thrilled they don't ship it with lens caps.

If you're planning to use it inline with other optics you need to be aware of a few things: 1.) The reticle and 2.) how you mount it. As crazy as this may sound, Leupold offers inverted reticle options for this scope because they expect a significant % of their target audience to be mounting it upside down. This creates additional mounting challenges as well.

Save your money!!! HD glass better, but not available with P4 reticle

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on February 25, 2010
I purchased the scope because: 1) P4 reticle matches the Schmidt-Bender PM2 that I and my teammate are using; 2) small, lightweight; & 3) passed the U.S. Army's requirements for the SASS teams. I don't know who got paid off, but these scopes are unusable on bright sunny days even when zoomed down to 12x. All I saw was mirage when ranging anything past 100 yds. I ended up using my S&B 5-25x to spot with. Our military deserves much better than this! I'm going to spend the extra $$$ and buy the Hensoldt Spotter 60. Non-matching reticle, but much clearer optics. You only live once.
Pros: Lightweight, matching reticle
Cons: Low quality glass
