Great Value
Great scope for the money. Mounted on AR15 in 300 Blackout. Very clear and bright.

Sorry Leupold but this scope is childish and gimmicky
I have nothing against Leupold products and own several of them (old, new, cheap and pricey). I am not an optics snob here to preach about Nightforce and US Optics being the only way to go, etc. I own cheap and expensive optics and every set-up has its requirements, so to each his own, of course.

Great buy, awesome optic
For the money you can’t go wrong with the Pig Plex, if it cost $50 more it’s still a good buy. Currently I have two and just purchased the new VX Freedom with pig plex. Clear glass, holds zero and the reticle does what it’s designed to do. I can’t say that I’m the best shot because I’m so so on hitting running pigs with my $1,000 scope on my AR-10 but when I’m running my AR-15 with Hog Plex the likelihood of a pig going down when they’re running is pretty high. I’ve pulled off a few amazing shots on runners with the scope so I swear by it. I hunt pigs several times/week during the spring, mostly spot and stalk and never an issue. Looking forward to getting the Socom and Freedom out so we can make memories, only if I could put my latest addition down we’d be on the pigs already!
Pros:
- Price, ruggedness, clarity, awesome reticle
Cons:
- Fire-dot out of my price range
Best Used for:
- Hunting running animals, spot & stalk, shooting 150 yards in

Leupold Pig Plex is great.
I live and hunt in Florida. I have always enjoyed low power and compact scopes for Florida brush hunting. The Leupold 1-4 Pig Plex is perfect. Plenty of magnification for brush hunting. I own 2 at the moment. Both on Marlins. 45-70 Guide Gun and 44 mag 1894. I leave the power set at 2 1/2. I love the circle bullseye. The thick horizontal and single vertical cross hairs are excellent for low light conditions.

Leupold VX Hog
This scope is the real deal. Awesome scope, awesome clarity during the day and low lite hours. Easy to pick up quickly what you at shooting at. I have it partnered with green light. At night the scope view really pops with even better clarity. For the money, you can't go wrong using this scope. Haven't tried in an actual hunt but I expect it to work wonderfully.
Pros:
- great fit for my 12 gauage tactical
Cons:
- None I am aware of
Best Used for:
- 150 yards or less

Excellent close to medium scope
Have bought two of these scopes. I like the reticle for ARs used for tactical purposes and hunting (both on 6.5 Grendel uppers). Excellent clear optics. Leupold quality. Light and compact. For the price, this scope is an excellent value. I have used similar scopes made by other manufacturers but much prefer this scope.
Pros:
- compact
- Light & easy to handle one handed
- Excellent optics for the price

- Tactical and hunting

Excellent scope for close to 200 yds
Very good optics. I am highly intrigued with this reticle. It helps frame a target and helps with range and distance estimation. It is the usual high quality of Leupold scopes. Small and light weight. I just bought my second one. Both go on ARs. Good scope for hunting in woodland areas and good tactical scope.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Quality
- cost
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Tactical applications
- Close to medium range hunting
